SUNDAY STORY - BOOKSHELF GNOMES
Due to much activity on NOL-NOC ESTATES, the Part 5 story for this week will continue in full next Sunday. Meanwhile, here is a brief preview of Jody's attempts to get inside the house. He did have to enlist the help of his sisters. We will also be introducing a new friend in the story.
Julia and Juniper hold the rope for Jody to climb up. They will climb up also and all will climb the ladder to get into the house in search of their baby brother. |

Douglas has turned up a new friend. Her name is Polly. She gave Jody, Judy and Jennifer the idea for the rope and ladder to use to get inside the house. Polly is a very smart girl. |

OCEAN VIEW by Granny Annie
Belinda's behavior was childlike as she stood at the ocean edge. She clapped her hands in glee and wanted to charge into the water but she knew better. She could see the sharks circling. They would love to savor a bite of Belinda. This was an important detail she needed to remember. "Jack!" she murmured to her husband as he approached her, "isn't this just gorgeous?" "Yes, it is" Jack replied, as he stretched his arms out to her.
--Later that night --
It was a beautiful evening for the group gathered in their favorite beach bar. They enjoyed the lime margaritas and the lick of salt on their wrists. There was so much laughter they almost didn't hear the shocking news coming over the last evening broadcast. The bar's sound system wasn't very good plus the loud crash of waves also blurred the story. It was something about a tourist named Belinda killed in a shark attack. Her distraught husband had found her. He insisted he had warned her not to go in the water but she never paid attention to him.

SUNDAY STORY - GARDEN BOOK SHELF GNOMES PT. 4
Continued from Part One , Part Two and Part Three
Jody begins his adventure in search of his baby brother. He carries a photo with him to show what Josh looks like. (Yes, Maxine had picked the correct name for the baby boy. His actual name is JOSH!)
Jody wanders NOL-NOC Estates and runs into a mountain goat. Jody asks the goat if he has seen Josh and the goat replies that he too is lost. He has accidentally meandered off his mountain. He is separated from his herd.
Jody points to the mountains behind the cabin and tells the mountain goat he will find his herd there if he walks straight north. The goat is happy and says he will keep his eyes open for the baby Josh.
Jody roams along only to confront a second goat. This little billy goat is planning to butt Jody from behind.
Jody turns quickly and warns the little black billy goat to keep his distance. Then Jody shows the young goat the picture of Josh. Sadly this goat has not seen the baby either.
Jody sees a couple of cows in the distance but decides not to approach them. They might not like him invading their field.
Finally Jody runs into a pretty pink pig. Jody shows the pig the picture of Josh. The sweet pig exclaims that he has actually seen the baby. It is in the house with Fred and Maxine. "Who are Fred and Maxine?" Jody implores. They are the Book Shelf Garden Gnomes. You have to get in that big door over there to go see them.
Jody wonders, "How can I open that huge door? Maybe I will need Julia and Juniper to help me."

This is a found photo of Furbie, born in 2009. Furbie alway gave me a judgemental look. He was a very elusive fellow and it took me forever to catch this photo of him. He fathered one litter of kittens and left home, never to be seen again. I believe he was avoiding child support.

The Senior Chief Ashmore stared at this beef-witted Master Chief Willis of this once proud Navy Seal team . He couldn't help but wonder how the biscuit eater ever made the selection for the new team leader much less how he ever moved to the rank of Master Chief. He definitely had blackmail on someone higher up. This reign of the team had been efficient in the grouping of the vigorous members until Willis showed up. His treatment of the highly successful team was always filled with needless punishments. The jerk only thought of where and what his next meal would be. Master Chief Willis always grabbed most of the rations. Where did the custom of “feed the troops first” go? Ashmore managed to groak at Willis, but not really wanting to join in, just hoping for a tittynope. Senior knew this Master Chief would fudgel, as was his custom. Their next mission would be a complete failure.

SUNDAY STORY - GARDEN BOOK SHELF GNOMES PT. 3

GARDEN BOOK SHELF GNOMES PT. 3
Fred has learned that there is a new Gnome in town. He is eager to take Maxine to meet this new guy. Maxine is eager to come clean with Fred about baby Josh. She is sure after Fred makes a new friend he will be less angry when he learns about the infant she has adopted. She will tell Fred when they return to the house.
Fred introduces himself to the Gnome who has ridden in on his own Rooster. The Gnome is named Douglas and he admires Maxine's beauty as Fred introduces her. "This is my WIFE" Fred says with strong emphasis on the word "wife". He doesn't really care for the way Douglas is looking at Maxine.
Douglas tell them that they were knocked down by a bowling ball and his rooster lost his beak. They will have to stay put until his transportation, rooster Jud, is healed. "Well" Fred said, "You can borrow BYR (Big Yard Rooster) if you need to go any distance while you are here." "Thanks a million!" Douglas replies.
"Make yourselves at home" Fred says, "we live in the house and only come outside occasionally. You will be fine here."
Maxine encourages Fred to stop in a sunny place on the way home. "I have something to tell you, my dear" Maxine begins. "I have been keeping a secret from you." "WHAT" Fred yells. "We aren't supposed to keep secrets. What is it?"
"I have a baby." Maxine says softly. "You silly woman, I would know if you had a baby." Fred laughs.
"I didn't say I HAD a baby. I said I HAVE a baby. I found him two weeks ago in a flower when we moved into the garden. I grabbed him and secreted him into the house. I have named him Josh."
"Here he is." Maxine says with pride in her voice. "Isn't he just the cutest thing you every saw? He loves to play in this little cedar chest with the blocks and the toy horse."
Fred smiles at the tiny child but has to ask, "What do you plan to do with him? We can't raise a child in the book shelf garden."
"We can hug him, and squeeze him and cuddle him until we find his family can't we?"
"Yes we can" and Fred reaches to pick up baby Josh.
Meanwhile, in another part of NOL-NOC ESTATES a small child is saying goodbye to his sisters. He is going on a journey to find their little lost baby brother.
Jody gives kisses to his sisters Julia and Juniper.
The little sisters wave goodbye to Jody as he heads out on a perilous journey to find their baby brother.
