PARTIAL DEBUT

Ron and his brother arrive in East Peoria with the Allis G tractor. We had a good trip to East Peoria then the guys had a good trip to Chicago area to pick up tractor while Sil and I awaited their return. Our trip home with this prize was another story. You understand if you saw the severe weather corridor yesterday stretching across Illinois, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. The "Chief" did a great job charting us a path home that skirted most of the storms.

Ron's brother and sil admire Allis G in her trailer cage. We are still having severe weather with flooding and our newest tractor will have to sit on the trailer for a while. Hopefully we'll unload her soon and I can show some proper pictures. It was a good trip. We enjoyed the travel up and we have never been so happy to see our home.

Thanks to all of you for your encouraging words and support for us on this short trip.

  2. I'm slowly catching up on my blog reading. I'm glad that you had a safe trip. Your red tractor looks like a beauty, but it's not my thing. Here's why:

My husband bought two old tractors once with the idea of selling them and making a profit. BIG MISTAKE. He paid for, but never got, one of them and, much to the neighbors disgust, the other one sat by the side of our house for years. After he died I gave it away to get rid of it.

  4. Nice tractor! Cliff has an Allis which his sons are restoring and repainting. Those tractors are a thing of beauty.

  8. Glad you had a good trip.

People ask me how I can live in California with our earthquakes - I'd take an earthquake any day of the week over a tornado, hurricane, or a Midwestern snow storm.

On the flip side, I've always thought Midwesterners were hardier folk than Californians.
