IT'S GOOD TO BE KING

"It's good to be the King."

The henchmen from the office of the President and CEO of US Cellular have won the fight.  (At least she claimed to be from the President's office.)  My efforts to be David in the battle with Goliath have been in vain.  The complaint I filed with the FCC seemed to be shaking things loose, but US Cellular has me over a barrel when they can cut my service in the blink of an eye. Though they have admitted that these seven months of pain and agony have been due to misinformation and misdirection from their representatives, there are still  no apologies and it has to be their way or the highway. Life is too short for me to live in the middle of this mess any longer.  I surrender.

I would so be switching, in spite of the other people in your life's connection issues. They'd never see another dime from me and my need to be right. LOL!

It is narrowed down to one account but not the one they kept telling me I would keep. They are my only option. It is so crazy. They would never let me speak to a manager or supervisor and if only they had done that early on, this would never have gone this far. My son who used to work in a call center said that it reflects poorly on the rep if they transfer to a manager so they will do anything not to. Thus made up answers and empty promises for seven months.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr with you. That's all that can be done.

I am good for this next month and will spend the rest of the time searching for another provider who might have good coverage on this side of the lake. If I moved to the South side of Grand Lake I could have all kinds of service.

  5. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the FCC about our cable and wireless company - I must say they seem to take notice of the BBB complaint. Perhaps you should go that route before you give up? Finally, we were connected to a service representative who seemed to want to solve our problem.

  6. Went thru a similar situation here in N Cali. Circumvented it by going to a personal wireless hot spot by a different co. Actually a better solution for me being on the road in the back of beyond.
Hope you get you're situation fixed. Please don't give up!

Can a complaint be filed with the BBB online? I haven't filed a complaint there and that might be a good idea as just a final statement.

I don't really understand what you are suggesting but it sounds like what my son is telling me to do.

  8. Hiss and spit. I have been through similar frustrations. The bigger the company the worse it gets I have found.

You have given me my new favorite expression. "Hiss and spit". Love it.

  10. Somedays Hiss and Spit is my mantra. And I am happy to share it.

  11. Ugghh....hopefully you can find another carrier to solve your issues.

  12. It must be hard to have to figure out what to do. You probably want to close the account but there might be charges for closing like with us.

  13. This is their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/#!/uscellularnot?fref=ts. They invite you to post your complaints there. I would take up their offer. I know that most corporate offices are very protective about thier brand and will act faster with public pressure. As long as you stay with the facts, they can not prosecute you.

It's too bad you and the company cannot compromise. You have my sympathy.

  15. You've filled me with this need to yell at someone.
Marilyn's in the living room watching a recorded show. I'll let you know what happens.
Yes, I'm going to blame this all on you.

  16. That sucks. Grr is right! I hate corporations that treat us like ants.

Nice to have your permission:) Thanks, I already used it yesterday but my dog Slim didn't really understand what I was talking about. She was very sympathetic however. lol

I shall be searching. It doesn't look favorable however. Rural living has its drawbacks and looking for internet, television, cell providers is always a big problem.

I never thought about closing fees. Yikes! I'm sure if they can charge it, they will even though I have been their customer well over ten years.

I posted my complaint on their Facebook page early on. Didn't get much response. I might do it again just to see if it will get some attention a second time.

It is obvious at this point that the company does not even know the meaning of the word “compromise”.

    Cliff
Oh no! Wait, Marilyn won't fall for that, she's too sharp. You probably just got yourself in trouble.

    Riot Kitty
But in the scheme of things that is exactly what we are....ants.

  18. They don't like publicity about their failings but sometimes it is best to call it a day rather than continue the stressing.
