PARTNERS IN CRIME

Boomer is David's mother.  She gave birth to David and Goliath in the nest boxes.  David has always stayed on NOL-NOC Estates but Boomer left soon after her kittens were weaned  and only returns occasionally for breakfast.  She has her other kittens at the neighbors and when they are big enough, she will bring them once or twice to show them to me.  Those are the only times I will see them.

I have never understood why Boomer visits but chooses not to live here.  Her daughter David is not very nice to her, but she does let her mother eat here.  I have always just assumed it was David who ran Boomer off.  That is  until I was viewing my surveillance video this week. Now I know the rest of the story and what gang really rules the roost around here.

  1. Thank you for the laugh. Vigilante Chickens!
You are becoming great at picking posts out of that surveillance camera.

All hens too. Not a rooster in the chase. Wonder why they don't like Boomer. Maybe because she was born in one of the nest boxes and then had her first set of kittens in a nest box.

  3. Clearly among your feathered friends there is such a thing as one feline too many!

  4. Annie,

Is David's daughter, Nancy, still around?

I sort of remember that Ashenhurst and Slim used to be friends with Nancy.

And where was Chicklet during this dust-up ? He is usually in the thick of things...

  6. I just LOVE your cameras! I want cameras inside and outside to see what my 3 dogs do while I am gone.

  7. Is there a video? It's not showing up for me, but I can imagine what the outcome was. :)

Chickens also will chase mice so perhaps they do not like the competition from the cats.

    Isn't it a hoot?!

At this time I am left only with David and one kitten Olive. This video clearly shows what might have happened to the others. Rooster Chicklet is busy these days holding his position as #1 while King Kong, Hope and Jack Bauer,Jr. attempt a coup.

I laughed so hard when I saw it on the video. This camera is showing me all kinds of fun things and so far no human intruders. Yea!

Slim has done her job of keeping an eye on the property while I am away. I felt sure I would see her sleeping on the job, but she takes her watch seriously.

I am posting it on Facebook too. Maybe you can see the video there.

Yes I knew that. It is indeed a riot when one chicken has a small mouse and the others want it. They make a run much like the one pictured here but they are after another hen.

It is a fun video isn't it. Too bad Rylan isn't still with you. He would get a kick out of it.

With cameras running 24/7 there's no telling what you will see.
