BREKING NEWS

And the saga takes a turn. We are back home. Ron had a fall this morning as we were preparing to leave the motel and the fright plus the difficulty in getting him back on his feet convinced us that we were trying this long trip too soon. We are bitterly disappointed,, as is our San Diego family. We are also extremely relieved to be safely back home. And we are thrilled that we at least had  a good time trying by being with my class of '64 high school friends for one heck of a fun evening.

P.S. Slim comes home tomorrow:)

  1. Oh no! I'm so sorry and hope Ron is OK.

I have been away from the computer for a few days and was catching up. Just saw your pictures on facebook with your friends from high school. So glad you got to do that. And I know Slim is ecstatic to have you home.

  4. That's a shame but you had your reunion and Ron is OK. There's always another day & at least Slim will be pleased!

You won't have much washing either!

  5. Dearest Annie,

Thank you for your comment and yes, I am guilty as charged for not updating as much as I wanted to.

Lots been happening and lots to update as well. My Mom has been ill and been in and out of hospital for the past two months. She is a diabetic and unless she goes into dialysis, I am afraid her condition will worsen. I try to spend as much time with her as possible.

I gone through your posts and I know I've lots of catching up to do as well. Hope Ron is getting on well and what a joy to see the quilt and knowing that Slim is coming home :)

I'm still here and I'll be your blog friend forever Annie :D

    Muack..Muack :D

  7. Chatty Crone -- Even Ron said that because of the meet and greet with my friends,it made it worth the effort.

Winifred -- I hate it that we will miss San Diego friends and family. I have quite a story about the Coronado Bridge I'll have to share sometime. It is indeed spectacular. Yes, I had our clothes all ready so just need to put them away and we're set for a couple of weeks at home:)

Shoinge -- I did not know about your mother and that certainly explains your absence from blog world. Take care and keep me posted. It was good to hear from you.

kenju -- See you back on our word games as soon as I'm rested.

  11. Falls can be very scary. Bruising isin't fun either. I suppose some more strength training is in Ron's near future. Hope Ron recovers soon. Sorry you had to ditch the original plan. Good thing you're flexible! Slim will be so relieved too.

  12. Cliff -- I believe we both knew this could be a mistake and we are feeling more relaxed to be home. Will get Slim today but wish she could have stayed with Marilyn and Julie.

Kay -- Nothing ventured, nothing gained. We are both glad for the outcome and will wait until we're sure he is steady before we try something like this again. Yes, Slim is going to be a happy girl to see me today. (I think.)

Riot Kitty -- It was scary. We may have gone on IF we were sure I would always be able to help him up. We needed to take a few more baby steps before we bit off this big chunk.

Snaggle Tooth -- We both definitely need the training to get ourselves up from a fall. It can be done but the procedure needs to be learned.

  16. The important thing is that you are back home safely. As you know we rarely venture further than the next county and we brace ourselves to do that.
Fortunately the children - even from France and Australia - happily come to us.

  17. Annie,

I just accidently came to your blog. I was sure you were away so didn't even try. Then I hit your name by accident and up came your red lettering telling us that you were home.

I am so sorry about Ron's fall and hope he is all right now.

I know you are both disappointed but better to be safe at home.

We also cancelled a trip. We have gone to Chicago for years to our daughter, Carol, for Thanksgiving but now we both have more issues than Newsweek and we will not be able to go this time.We feel the same as you do;sorry we can't go but glad we have decided not to.
