IT'S A WRAP

More Breaking News:  Jack Bauer the Rooster has moved across the road after all.  It seems the neighbor's new rooster is a mean fellow.  Their rooster does not fight other roosters, he fights the people.  Jack Bauer has never attacked any humans so he gets his new harem at last.  Yes, I'm okay with it and have bartered for a few fertilized Aracauna eggs to put in a cache of eggs under my next broody hen.  NOL-NOC Estates has not heard the last of the legend of Rooster Jack Bauer.

  4. I hope your neighbors recover from the nasty rooster attacks soon- I'm sure Jack is up to the mission, altho we aill miss him... not as much as you prob will tho!
Will he be penned in over there, or try to fly home?
I wrote that before reading the other comments! My thoughts on it too-

  5. Lynn -- You have been hoping for Jack's Bliss all the while haven't you? Looks like he shall have it. They have quite a select group of fancy girls. As far as the idea to barter for eggs, I have to admit it was Pat MacKenzie of Pat's Ramblings who came up with the idea. Hopefully we'll have some success hatching Jack's offspring.

Brown English Muffin -- I am afraid that Slim might help Jack in that effort. She (Slim) was mighty upset when the neighbor walked off with Jack. After all, it is Slim's job to keep the chicken's at home.

LL Cool Joe -- If Jack does make a masterful escape and return here, you can be sure it will be a tall tale to share. I have a feeling though that during the two weeks he will start out locked up with the girls, he will easily decide to stay put (unless he has to get back here so he can get some rest).

Snaggle Tooth -- Rooster Jack is gone, just like his namesake Jack Bauer of the television series 24. I never thought I would get over the show going away but I did and so shall I get over my dear rooster going away. Off on a mission as you suggested is the best way to think of it. If by some chance he would be able to lift his incredible hulking body off the ground and "fly" home, that would probably make the newspapers.

  6. Good to hear Jack Bauer is a lover, not a fighter :)

  7. Marla and Steve @ Always Nesting -- Oh he's a fighter alright, just not of people. It is sure quiet around here this morning. Chicklet is not crowing and seems to be in mourning for Jack's absence.

  9. OMG,Annie, I turn my back for five minutes and JACK IS GONE!

I can only hope that when he went across the road to meet his new "girls", he was in uniform!

You only get one chance to make a first impression, you know, and Jack looks mighty fine with his green bag and his sunglasses and his badges and all.

Seriously, he is the General Patton of roosters and I hope he strutted in there looking like the biggest, baddest guy those chicks had ever seen...

You'll have to go over in the morning and see if all the hens have a big smile on their faces...

  11. Good for Jack. His kindness to humans has rewarded him well.

  12. Kenju – I haven’t been able to bring myself to visit him yet. I don’t know if I can bear to see him smiling so big.

Nancy – Actually Jack was half asleep when he was grabbed off the roost and he was put into a large pen all alone. The gals will gather around him later. The new owners did take a picture with them that I printed of Jack in his full uniform and I guess it will serve a pin-up boy for the hen house.

T.O. Geezer aka~Ron – I don’t know if he’ll be back but I wonder if he hears his old nemesis Chicklet crowing and bragging about having all this old flock to himself.

Pat MacKenzie – Hopefully it will serve as a reward for him. You know I could never have let him go if you had not come up with the perfect barter. Can’t wait to get some of Jack’s fertilized eggs under a broody hen over here.

  13. Congratulations to Jack Bauer! Poor old Chicklet. He couldn't live with Jack Bauer, and now he can't live without him.
