Here chick, chick, chick!

We have our spring chicks. Ron installed our nursery box on the wall of the chicken house. The slanted lid keeps the big chickens from roosting on top of the box. There is a light inside for warmth for the chicks. However, we failed to see the return of winter. So far so good with the chicks surviving the cooler weather. Today it is going to get worse. We are adding a second light to keep the babies warm. If this works, we're good for years to come. If it fails I'm gonna be short some spring chicks. Oh my beautiful Golden Comets!

  5. Hope it keeps the little ones warm. Maybe they need one of those aluminium blankets the hospitals use.

  6. Hi Annie,

I wish you lots of luck keeping those sweet little peeps warm. They are so fuzzy and cute.

Is the Broken Arrow shirt in the picture below a memento of the Rose Bowl Parade?

  10. Thank you for your "warm" wishes. I was out before 6:30 this morning and found the Golden Girls alive and well. Thankfully it did not get as cold as we had heard and now it appears sunshine in back in our forecast.

Judy, OGO, PG, RK, it looks like you did good sending the warmth.

Tabor, these little babies are a lot of responsibility and I would never have any dyed ones.

Nancy, my granddaughter is wearing a Broken Arrow Pride shirt in support of her brother's trip to Pasedena. She goes to high school next year and is hoping to be accepted in the band.

Michele, when are you going to come see our golden babies?

Gary, must I keep reminding you that we DO NOT eat our girls. We have them for egg production only. Yes, we eat chicken but not our own that have names and faces. I shall look at your meme and try not to hate you:)
