WHERE IS MY SUNDAY PAPER?

For all of us who are seniors - for all of you who know seniors - and for all of you who will be seniors. It pays to be able to laugh about it when you are! And, speaking of senior moments:

"WHERE is my SUNDAY paper?!" The irate customer calling the newspaper office loudly demanded, wanting to know where her Sunday edition was with all of it's coupons.

"Madam", said the newspaper employee, "today is Saturday. The Sunday paper is not delivered until tomorrow, on SUNDAY".

There was quite a long pause on the other end of the phone, followed by a ray of recognition as she was heard to mutter,

"Well, shit... so that's why no one was at church today".

I received this in an email and had to laugh. Since we are retired we rarely know what day it is. My parents used to get upset if their newspaper was late because that was how they reminded themselves what day it was. I had to think about how funny mom would have thought this was.

Yesterday's ILYB featured this.

  1. This is really good! (Though I no longer have newspapers until the evening papers.)

  2. Sometimes I have to get on the computer to know what day it is. We stopped our daily papers about 3 months ago because there was so little news in them anymore.

  4. Oh, btw, my verification word was "pedifire" I suppose that is: one who has a perversion for small flames as in those of a candle.

I don't mind that quite as much as when I forget someone's name though !

  7. My Children presented me with a bumper sticker that reads "I'm Confused.." It was just a joke. Wasn't it?
And why does it matter what day it is anyway?

  16. I'm not a senior yet, but I have senior moments.
I'm getting an early start so I'll have no problem fitting in when the time comes.
    :-)
