DEFENDING THE WARDROBE

Is there a man or woman alive who has competed in the corporate workplace and does not understand the $150,000 wardrobe? Personally I am surprised they could outfit Governor Palin so frugally.

I am sorry, but for any person to get ahead in the corporate lane, they MUST dress the part. The demands for appearances on the world wide stage have to be even more strenuous.

Right or wrong, it is still fact. A woman especially can have all the brains necessary and the drive to do the job, but if she cannot meet "the image" she will not be taken seriously.

  1. True but it can be done on a lot less. What was wrong with her own wardrobe? As governor of Alaska, I'm sure she had some decent clothes.

I am known in my circle as one of the best dressed women in town and I do it on a very limited budget.

Frankly I'm infinitely less concerned with what a candidate wears than with what he/she says.
And what comes out of her nouth frightens me.

  2. While I do not like Palin and am upset that McCain has morphed into something other than I thought he was by choosing her, I do agree that this wardrobe thing is pretty sexist. Yes, I think she could have gotten by for a month on $30,000 in clothes, etc., and I wish she wouldn't all of a sudden try to make us think she wasn't thinking of keeping it...but there are many other issues about her that I wish the press would stick to.

  3. I like Palin but I have to agree with you both that there are other issues of greater importance to think about. It amazes me so how easily our media is sidetracked. See this sparkley thingy......oooo run after it hurry:-)

  4. I also think she could have been outfitted for much less. I wonder what will happen to that wardrobe after the election? Will it be auctioned off for charity?

  5. Way to much money for wardrobe!

  6. Another example of how they like to waste money. I can't imagine the clothes you could buy for that price. Enough to last many people a lifetime!

  7. From what I understand, Sarah Palin just gave her size and McCains staff went out and purchased the clothing. Mrs. Palin didn't even see the clothes until they were delivered to her hotel room.

I think it is a little two faced of the Dems to be talking about this when Barak wears $ 3,000.00 suits and Michelle wears designer clothes herself.

Yes, they could have "clothed" her for less money, but it is just a ploy of the Dems to sidetrack the issues.
