PICHER PICTURE

Today we had occasion to travel near Picher, OK. We only live about 30 miles from this tornado ravaged town and so we took Ryan, Dillon and Beth to see what remained from the May 10, 2008 destruction. This scene tells the story.

  2. Heartbreaking.

I had lots of family near where a tornado touched down in Colorado. It's super scary! Thank heavens they are all ok.

  3. Those tornados are awful. I feel for the folks that have gone through those. Seems to be more and more of them these days.

  4. That is so sad. It's an odd coincidence, but just 30 minutes from us is where tornadoes came through when we were on our trip to Savannah. When we got home, we saw houses without roofs and others with worse damage and a pathway through the trees that looked like they were snapped like twigs. Our neighbors said they were crouched in their house scared to death when those storms passed over. I was glad we were not home during that!
OK has more tornadoes than we do in AR, but this year has been particularly bad for AR. I feel so badly for all those who have suffered loss of their homes and worse yet, loss of loved ones.
