IN THE SOUP

Hello.  This is an attempt at a blog comeback.  Wish me well.

Today I have visited most of you as a start.  Still it is not likely that I have caught up on everything you have been up to since my last post in January.  If you have things you know of interest to tell me, write it in the comments section.

March 9, 2019, my 14th blog anniversary was passed.  Fourteen years on this blog and before that two years on my first blog. Have I actually run out of things to say?  Probably.

First on the agenda for this post is my love of soup.  Even as warm weather approaches, soup is my favorite meal.  Yesterday I prepared a huge pot of Breakfast Soup (sausage and sweet potatoes, etc.) and Cabbage Soup (only 43 calories per serving).  Next week I will fix Lima Bean soup.  Can't wait to try that.  Nothing makes the house smell better than simmering soup.

Hum?  That's all folks:-) See you later. xoxo

WHAT'S WRONG

It was my hope to return to my blog and my blog friends but something has happened to me.  Not only has blogging been abandoned, there is rarely interest in Facebook.  My art materials have also been discarded and no poetry has been forthcoming.  To top it all off I have been losing things.

My TV remote disappeared and I searched for hours. Would you believe it was found accidentally  when I reached into a bag of chips.  Instead of pulling out a chip, I grabbed the remote. It was almost like finding a prize in Cracker-Jacks.

How did the TV remote end up in the chip sack?  Don't tell my children.  They already think I am ready for a nursing home.

Hopefully the right side of my brain will start working again soon.

HIDING OUT

Happy New Year to All!

It was my intention to visit my sister and brother-in-law today but things happen.  First it turned very cold and I could not brave the temperatures.

Second my young dog awakened me at 2AM. Frankie Doodle does not bark in the night, she whispers.  She was whispering at 2AM and I was hoping she would go back to sleep but she kept it up.  Slim was ignoring her but the light noise was driving me crazy. I got up to open the door and let Frankie out but I couldn't find her.

Frankie was stuck under my bed.  I can only guess that when people on the lake set off fireworks at midnight to welcome the New Year it frightened her and she dived under without thinking.  She has gotten so big she could not get out.  I encouraged her and she finally made it out from under but then she wanted to play.

Needless to say I am due a nap and will stay home and hope Frankie keeps quiet.

It looks like she is ready for a nap too.

FRIDAY SING ALONG

Swett Nothin's
My baby whispers in my ear
Sweet nothings
He knows the things I like to hear
Sweet nothings
Things he wouldn't tell
Nobody else
Secret baby
I keep them to myself
Sweet nothings
Sweet nothings
We walk along hand in hand
Sweet nothings
Yeah we both understand
Sweet nothings
Sitting in classroom trying to read my book
My baby give me that special look
Sweet nothings
Sweet nothings
Ah sitting on my front porch
Sweet nothings
Well do I love you, of course
Sweet nothings
Mama turned on the front porch light
Saying come here darling that enough for tonight
Sweet nothings
Sweet nothings
Sweet nothings

Question Of The Week 12-17-18

What’s been on your mind most lately?

FRIDAY SING ALONG

Twilight Time
Heavenly shades of night are falling, it's twilight time
Out of the mist your voice is calling, it's twilight time
When purple colored curtains mark the end of day
I'll hear you, my dear, at twilight time
Deepening shadows gather splendor as day is done
Fingers of night will soon surrender the setting sun
I count the moments darling till you're here with me
Together at last at twilight time
Here, in the afterglow of day, we keep our rendezvous beneath the blue
Here in the same and sweet old way, I fall in love again as I did then
Deep in the dark your kiss will thrill me like days of old
Lighting the spark of love that fills me with dreams untold
Each day I pray for evening just to be with you
Together at last at twilight time
Here, in the afterglow of day, we keep our rendezvous beneath the blue
Here in the sweet and same old way, I fall in love again as I did then
Deep in the dark your kiss will thrill me like days of old
Lighting the spark of love that fills me with dreams untold
Each day I pray for evening just to be with you
Together at last at twilight time
Together at last at twilight time

FRIDAY SING ALONG

At the Hop
Bah-bah-bah-bah, bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah, bah-bah-bah-bah, at the hop!
Well, you can rock it you can roll it
You can slop and you can stroll it at the hop
When the record starts spinnin'
You chalypso when you chicken at the hop
Do the dance sensation that is sweepin' the nation at the hop
Ah, let's go to the hop
Let's go to the hop (oh baby)
Let's go to the hop (oh baby)
Let's go to the hop
Come on, let's go to the hop
Well, you can swing it you can groove it
You can really start to move it at the hop
Where the jockey is the smoothest
And the music is the coolest at the hop
All the cats and chicks can get their kicks at the hop
Let's go!
Ah, let's go to the hop
Let's go to the hop (oh baby)
Let's go to the hop (oh baby)
Let's go to the hop
Come on, let's go to the hop
Let's go!
Well, you can rock it you can roll it
You can slop and you can stroll it at the hop
When the record starts spinnin'
You chalypso* when you chicken at the hop
Do the dance sensation that is sweepin' the nation at the hop
Well, you can swing it you can groove it
You can really start to move it at the hop
Where the jockey is the smoothest
And the music is the coolest at the hop

All the cats and chicks can get their kicks at the hop
 Let's go!
Ah, let's go to the hop
Let's go to the hop (oh baby)
Let's go to the hop (oh baby)
Let's go to the hop
Come on, let's go to the hop
Let's go!
Bah-bah-bah-bah, bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah, bah-bah-bah-bah, at the hop!
