OLIVIA'S PLIGHT by Granny Annie
The slippers were crocodile and she rejected them as unsuitable. The day would never come when Olivia would wear any animal. She left the ladies department in a huff and was heading straight for home. She didn't even stop to look at the assortment of cards on the wall at the exit door. Suddenly a stern voice stopped Olivia. Buzzers and bells sounded and it was a shock of her life. The security guard appeared in front of her and examined both of her feet. “Where do you think you are going with those?” and he pointed to her feet. She had failed to remove the slippers she had tried on and was now trying to explain. The security guard would not listen and escorted a shamed Olivia to the office where he called the police.
Poor Olivia. And shudder at crocodile slippers. I am surprised that she even tried them on...
ReplyDeleteOh no, sure hope they believe her. Maybe they'll realize when they see her shoes left behind that it was unintentional.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite the story!
ReplyDeleteMaybe the sales rep will help vouch for the mistake.
ReplyDeleteNice use of the prompts!
ReplyDeletePoor Olivia!
Oh Dear! Poor Olivia, so against the crocodile slippers but for getting to take them off. They must have felt too comfortable.
ReplyDeleteThanks for you nice comments. This story was based on a true story. I was ten years old when shopping with my parents and my sister. My sister was having me hold one of the coats she liked. Parents decided they were all too expensive, so we left without buying one. We got to the car before I realized I was still holding the coat. I cried and cried and made my father take it back because I knew I would be arrested
