QUESTION OF THE WEEK - 07-19-2021 and Awww Monday
Where does your self-worth come from?
Here is my Awww Monday post. Sophie looks like a figurine on the lamp table.
Awww on the pups. Looks like something is going on outside that needs close attention.
This is a many faceted question. Your family can be a positive or negative aspect. What you think of yourself. What you achieve in life. So many variables. Great questions and one that you can ponder for days.
Self worth is instilled by those who love and raise you. I know people who were told from childhood they are useless nothings, a waste of space, and decades later, no matter how well their life is going, you cannot change their outlook, they still feel worthless.
Difficult question---So many different angles. My parents, my early successes in broadcasting, being able to contribute in a worthwhile manner to my endeavors now that I am retired--- nativedsd.com and http://outtahismind.blogspot.com/ But River's response immediately above mine is devastatingly true-- I've known people who have suffered that as well.
I have heard that a girl gets her self-worth from her father and a boy from his mother.

Self-worth mostly comes from our parents I think but we have to keep in so it increases in value! Sweet pups!

ReplyDeleteNo clue how to answer the question, i think there are too many factors to narrow it down to a simple answer.
I think family instils self-worth, and life's successes adds to it.
