Sea Side Rescue by Granny Annie
Delbert was curmudgeonly. It seems he was always eager to dredge up past bad experiences. He was never gentle in plying the pins and needles he would stick into his memories of blame. They were like hispid lined around a hedgerow by the time he finished his disgruntled tales of woe.
The villagers recalled the time a pink dolphin was trapped in a sea-cave. Scruffy old Delbert blamed the actual rescuers for making matters worse. The divers had saved the very rare mammal and were hailed as heroes by everyone except Delbert. Though successful, he knew the rescue was not how he thought it should have been done.
You are so darn good at this. Love your story today. Have a nice day.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for your kind words. It is a fun challenge and you should try it.
DeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteWe all know a Delbert. Hopefully we manage to avoid becoming him. Great use of the prompts.
ReplyDeleteThat was some list of words but that was some story that came out of it. Hurray for the pink dolphin. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteLove your story. There is probably a Delbert in every community. There certainly is one in our local village.
ReplyDeleteHad to look up hispid but you managed it well. So glad the dolphin was rescued-pink yet.
ReplyDeleteWow, now that's a challenge! I had to look up hispid as well. (Must try to remember that one for Scrabble.)
ReplyDeleteSounds like Delbert is a person to avoid. Great use of the words.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job with all those words! Oh, and I think I know Delbert. ;)
ReplyDeleteWell done with the prompts. People like Delbert love to criticize and complain about other but never himself.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like nothing would make Delbert happy. Nice job spinning a tale out of these word prompts. :)
ReplyDeleteSome people are never satisfied, no matter what, and you cannot help those people. Well told!
