Picture of the newly divorced in 1975. Who knew it would be 26 years before I married again. Loved the company of these wonderful children and still do. What adventures we had together over those years. How absolutely terrified I was when this picture was taken.
You conceal your fear well. Very well. That is a wonderful photo of your courageous self.
ReplyDeleteAnd now I have an earworm. And hope that 'And I know too much to go back an' pretend'
I was sorry to learn that Helen Reddy's voice has been silenced now...
I was very sad when I learned of her death. Her songs gave me a lot of courage.
DeleteYou certainly look the picture of confidence and control. Must be those two cuties giving you the strength.
ReplyDeleteThey were the reason for my continued education and my promotions through the banking industry. I did everything for them and when they were almost through college, Ron and I found each other.
DeleteFear was no match for strength
ReplyDeleteI didn't feel strong but I guess I was. Thanks.
DeleteYou have come a long way since then.
ReplyDeleteThere was a time I had, but now I feel like I'm going no where but to the grave.
DeleteSure you have come a long way and grown in confidence... 1975, the year i was born...
ReplyDeleteYou are just a pup. I tried to sketch you so go to my art page and see what you think.
DeleteI had a similar experience that year. I didn't wait 26 years though-- only 6 years. It worked out. Now I'm ancient and have a great grandson. I suspect you did quite well on your own.
ReplyDeleteMy ex remarried a month after our divorce so I got engaged but thankfully I realized it was a bad choice and a rebound so I was able to just concentrate on my children and my career until my prince came along.
DeleteYour ex sounds like he was a bit of a cad. If i am wrong, i'm sorry, but i have a difficult time with men who dump a wife and child(ren) for someone else. Doggone it, be a real man, love your children's mother!
ReplyDeleteYes, he was a cad but he left me with two wonderful children that I would not trade for the world.
DeleteIt must have been really hard for you. It's a lovely photo of you all you all look so happy. Lovely that Prince Ron came along and you were happy together.
ReplyDeleteI was just reading one of your earlier posts & you were answering a question about what was the best thing about waking up & you said simply Ron! Brought the tears to my eyes.
Take care & God bless.
