STITCH FIX & AMAZON
Question Of The Week 08-27-18
Do you shop online and keep what you bought even if you might not like it? Do you buy groceries online?
I have purchased the occasional thing on line...so far so good. No..not groceries. I want to pick out my own food items for as long as it is physically possible.
I do shop on line and sometimes I am disappointed and return an item. Not that often. I don't buy groceries on line although one nearby store has online ordering that you can just pick up right near the front door. I think you may even be able to call and have someone bring your order out to your car. I am retired. I have plenty of time to go into the grocery store.
I shop online and may return items that are over 15 dollars or so. I just shopped online from the hardware store Home Depot which is about 40 miles up the road from us and their process is great even when returning something.
I shop online at WalMart and DH picks them up - easy peasy! I buy quite a bit online, mostly Amazon. Can't recommend clothes shopping, but I've bought gifts and had them delivered to the recipient's homes - makes Christmas and Birthday shopping effortless as we live so far from most everyone.
About the only things I don't buy online are my groceries and like lines, and newsagency requirements.
I buy all else online...clothes, shoes, etc. Touch wood...I've not had any problems with the items I've purchased. I prefer letting my fingers do the walking, than me walking around busy big shopping centres down on the Gold Coast. I don't like the hustle and bustle of crowds...and the traffic.
I actually like the grocery stores where I shop: Publix and Whole Foods, so I've never bought groceries online. My coworker, who often has her grandson with her, finds online grocery shopping a miracle timesaver. She can order the groceries and pull right up and they bring them to her car.
But I buy things from Amazon sometimes that are too much trouble to return, so they end up in the Goodwill box. The most recent example is the device I bought to put on my dashboard to hold my phone (for the navigation app use). Georgia now has hands free driving - it's a big ticket if you are holding your phone. The Amazon purchase didn't work for my dash, but the return shipping was almost as much as the device, so I didn't send it back. I went by AutoZone and found one that works for my car. Should have gone there in the first place. :)
Well - that was long. Hope you are well. I don't know what's gotten into me, but I haven't been on the computer much this summer (the new job doesn't give me any down time at work, like I had before.) I miss my blogging breaks.
Years ago I did my fed taxes online, n bought a memory card on Amazon the same week. Then all my bank acct money was stolen! No rent, food, n I had to wait a month for the insured funds to come in. I now use cash or gift cards only! Once was enough for that! Life would be easier if I trusted it. Never did groceries either. I like to see the chioces n bargain hunt.
I do buy quite a few things online and it's fun to receive the boxes. I prefer to buy clothes in stores though. My son had me try StitchFix, but I found it too expensive.

ReplyDeleteI've shopped online for years but I'm not interested in keeping turds. So those items get returned or donated.
ReplyDeleteIngredients online: Yes to organic prunes, jungle nuts and things like that but no to fresh apples, grapes or bananas.
I shop a lot online but luckily I haven't had anything I'd didn't like. Wouldn't do groceries. Meats or produce must be seen for me to be happy.

Did more in the past but because I don't like to send it back I try to refrain. I don't buy groceries on line.
