Happy TFCD

TFCD stands for Television Format Change Day. That is about the only thing Friday is around here. Retired persons rarely know what day it is until they turn the television to prime time and America's Most Wanted is on. Only then comes the "Ah Ha -- it's Saturday". Well, it made sense to me when I started.

Our living room is painted and the new ceiling is in. The trim is all that is left to be completed. It has been a much more expensive endeavor than we planned. Who knew what hiring painters, buying paint, ceiling tiles, spackle, etc. would cost. Ron has always done this stuff himself but thanks to cell phone texting, his contractor days are over at least for now.

Yes, the young lady who hit him on April 2, had mentioned to her friends at the high school that she was texting when she hit him. That certainly explains no skid marks at the scene. Our world is in danger if some strict laws are not passed about cell phone texting while operating vehicles.

Did everyone remember to go to Dana's blog today and say Happy 60th Birthday? Click the birthday cake link on my sidebar to get there.

Tomorrow we head for my daughter's new Oklahoma home. This will be our first time to see it and I cannot wait. We will be bringing grandson Michael back with us. We always love to steal him.

If you're not sure when the weekend will end, check your TV guide:)

  2. We actually had to pass a no-texting law here. WTF? Who in their right mind sends a text while driving? I'm so sorry you had to go through this.

My boss read a headline the other day: "NY Teen Falls into Open Manhole While Texting." Sorry, but I couldn't help laughing over that one.

  3. It infuriates me that people drive and text!! It's absolutely maddening. How can people be so incredibly thoughtless?!

Have a wonderful trip to Oklahoma!:-)

  6. I know hat you mean about the days all running together. Everyday is Saturday. Makes me feel sort of stupid sometimes. I am definitely with you on the texting law. We could just put all the texters on their own road!

Just dropped by to wish you a very happy weekend and it seems that you will as soon as you get to see your daughters new home and pick up your blessing.

    Have awonderful time.

  8. Why do people feel they need to answer texts right away and risk hurting themselves or someone else? It makes no sense!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend and having fun with Michael!

  9. Hope you are having a great weekend!!

No one should drive and text. Talking on their cell phone and driving is bad enough. It should be against the law I think. If they must text then they need to pull into a parking lot and get off the road to text. Do the texting and then drive on.

  10. Housing projects are GREAT... when they are all finished.
I don't get the whole texting thing while driving. It would be like trying to read a book and drive or write a letter and drive. Too dangerous for me.. but I'm an old fogey.
I hope Ron is doing well lately. I know he's had a lot to deal with.
I hope all is well with you too. I've not been doing much blogging or fb lately. Our trial for our lawsuit is the end of the month. I'm being deposed on Monday, and my parents fly in this Saturday. Lots going on. Life can get hectic, but I'm sure glad to be alive!! Those sons of birches we are suing are also being sued by four other parties. They are lowlife scum.
I'm glad I got that off my chest.
    Okay now...
    Have a good evening!

    :-)
