70 IN DOG YEARS
Today is Slim's 10th Birthday. This makes her 70 in dog years. I will be 70 in June. She got her own plate of bacon, eggs, toast and cheese but gobbled it down before we could snap the picture and sing Happy Birthday. Love this girl. She is the BDITW. (Best Dog In The World).

ANTIQUE DAY
According to Lynn at Good Things Happen, this is National Antique Day. Here is one of my treasured antiques and maybe someone will know what it is for. My mother thought enough of it to put the names of her grandparents and her great grandmother inside it. She did not say what it is though.

ADDENDUM
For those who read my last post, here is an addendum. I wasn't sure I should give this information but decided to post it. The incident in my life was troubling but I was amazed by the comments from you guys on the experiences you had. Children are such prey and we sometimes never know.
On December 4, 2001, Lois Nadean Smith, age 61, was executed by lethal injection in Oklahoma for an offense of murder committed when she was 41. (I think she stabbed her son-in-law to death.) She was the leader of The Skulls that stopped us and wanted us to get in the car in 1957. She was only the 8th woman executed in the United States and I think only the 3rd in Oklahoma.

Question Of The Week 4-4-16
Do you recall a troubling incident from your childhood that happened to you or that you witnessed involving someone else?
Walking home from the show one evening in our small town a gang of high school girls who called themselves The Skulls stopped and offered me and my friend a ride. We refused and they started getting out of their car in their scary black leather jackets acting like they would pull us into the car. We had heard horrible things about them and things they did to junior high kids. We were not far from my house and ran there in terror. We simply were glad to arrive home safely and didn't even tell my parents what had happened. Later we learned they had picked up another kid, took him to an old bridge outside of town and pulled off all his fingernails.

And I chose him myself. My parents took me to a toy store and lined up a selection of stuffed animals. I chose pink puppy. They mixed the toys around - and I chose him again.
Not sure what happened to them, I think my Mam threw them out when she moved. Wish she had asked me if I wanted them. I'm such a hoarder I would still have had them.
