QUESTION OF THE WEEK 03-01-2021

What is something you have tried really hard to like but just couldn't?

  1. Democrats. Try as I might, I cannot find one good thing about the party in general to like/tolerate about them. Long time Republican who has been living in a Democrat controlled state for 30+ years. In my entire life, I've actually found one local Democrat I can support, but beyond that, there is nothing else that they do that I can support.

  2. Exercise. I do not hate it, but have to reward myself with the TV on to a mundane and easy to follow show. I have been watching all seven years of Gilmore Girls and will have to look for something new soon. (Regarding the post above, I like SOME Republicans.)

    1. So funny. I won't start a new series or special TV show until I have completed my exercise and my household chores. Those shows are then my rewards.

    1. Growing up a preacher's daughter, never thought I would dislike church so much. I don't trust churches at all but I do have very deep faith.

  5. Constant music. I know that it is an essential for many people but I prefer silence (or nature's songs).

  7. Cooked greens, like turnip greens, mustard greens, and collard greens. There was a time when i didn't mind them cooked, then i ate them when pregnant and got so very sick that now i can only eat them raw in salads.

By the way, i will tell my Bigger Girl about peanut butter and mustard. She, like one of the great uncles, loves mustard (he used to eat it on everything, even his ice cream).

  10. I love your answer, Annie-- and your courage in expressing it. Me? I can't think of anything specific that doesn't make me sound like an old curmudgeon. Oh wait.... Uh....

  12. I think political correctness is something I've tried to at least understand but can't. In fact "political correctness" seems like an oxymoron to me. I bet Dr Seuss would agree.
