PBS THE VIETNAM WAR

Question Of The Week 9-25-17

What was the last thing you recorded off TV?

I have been recording all of THE VIETNAM WAR series on PBS. It is painful to watch but very educating. Shame on all of those who spit on our returning military from that horrific war. It was not a fight of their choosing.  God save all of our military volunteers now.

I've never recorded anything...we are SO behind the times lol.

Dance with the Stars - do you watch that?

I only watch shows from the DVR. Too many commercials.
The Vietnam War, but haven't watched any episodes yet. If it's a Ken Burns program - I have to watch.

I have never recorded anything either. I don't know how!

I record EVERYTHING from shows, news and sports. Can't remember the last thing I saw live. I am too old to waste 20 minutes of very hour listening to commercials.

Although I never watched TV, I really wanted to watch the 3 part series called Little Boy Blue, I've only seen part one so far and it was excellent.

I have heard lots of good things about Vietnam. And our Vietnam vets were also treated shamefully.
My partner tapes things. I don't.

La La Land :)

I'm not recording anything. The DVR is on my husband's tvs. I was watching Vietnam, but had overlap overload.

I can record four programmes and watch a fifth simultaneously; not that there is much worth watching on free-to-air TV at present. I'm mostly streaming shows on Netflix and Stan..totally addicted.

I recorded last night's 6 pm news bulletin...purely for the weather forecast. I'm sick to death of what's going on in the "real" world...so I prefer to "escape"....

And, Annie...I'm with you wholeheartedly on the shame on "those who spit on our returning military"....similar occurred here.

I have only the utmost admiration for our men and women of the Forces.

It's been so long since I have recorded anything at all, maybe a Nascar race a long time ago when we weren't going to be around to catch it live.

We record every Manchester United game so I can watch them! We also record Seth MacFarlane's new show, The Orville. (Rob)

Nothing from the TV in a long while, so I can't remember what the last thing was.

Same here . I do not like to record any thing from the TV. I thought that it was illegal.

I also record the PBS series on the war. I watch it, but not right before I go to bed! I also record Fareed Zakaria's weekend show. And lots of British mysteries. I watch way too much TV.

  18. We record anything we want to watch because we can't stand the commercials. However, all summer nothing has recorded! Why are we paying for nothing being on TV that is worth watching? We're deciding whether to get rid of cable.

  20. The last thing I recorded was an episode of Forensic Files only because I knew I would miss the best part, i.e., how and when they caught the evildoer.

BTW my husband has watched the PBS Vietnam series and I haven't heard him yell at the TV more in a long time. He's very knowledgeable about the war and he wasn't comfortable with the political portrayal of the US vs. the N. Vietnamese Viet Cong.

  21. I got the 2 dvds of it from the library a few weeks ago, n it was difficult n upsetting to see it all- must have been worse to be there, n getting home home thinking no one cared about your trauma!

I can't record here. It has been many years. May have been Peter Jennings Alien special, or a Superbowl on VHS about 2008, I think...
