TIS ANOTHER EVE

Happy New Year's EVE to all my dear blog friends.  This picture is my final digital painting for 2016 and I hope to keep improving in 2017.  You can follow my art work at by EAGHL if you are interested.  I have never had an art lesson and am known as a folk artist.  My one art class was in high school and the teacher suggested I leave the class because I had no artistic talent. I have learned a lot from fellow artists online.  Our mutual friend Ileana of IZH Portraits has been my greatest supporter.  This new year one of my digital pieces will appear in a book being published now.

  3. Your high school art teacher should have been drawn and quartered for telling a student she had no talent.

    Happy New Year

  5. What marvel that your work will appear in a published book! YOu need to let us know when that happens. I do like the energy and fierceness of this fox. I have always been intrigued by these intelligent and curious animals. The high school teacher could have felt you had no skill...but she should have tried other ways to help you shine as I imagine getting someone who likes art is the hardest part of filling a classroom.

  6. Looks like your teacher should've questioned his/her teaching credentials rather than your talent. I'm just saying...

Happy New Year! Let's hope it's a good one, full of blessings and joy.

  7. A very Happy New Year. Love your artwork - and meant to say that about the piece featured on another blog yesterday. Your teacher? Clueless. And mean.

  9. Happy New Year ! I like your art. Talent can also be a learned skill. I ’ve seen folks who never have the patience. T o Draw, n profscwho wanted a carbon copy of how they did things. Artists d o new things a new way now matter opinions in the critique say they should. You kind of do impressionist sketching. A fine fox!

  10. I like your folksy style!
Sometimes the ones that tell us we can't or aren't are the ones that spur us on the most...

  11. I once knew a sly yellowish golden fox. If you don't mind me asking, Granny Annie, what kind of digital art/painting program do you use? I like the 'looseness' of the white chalk lines and the smaller black squiggly ones layered over the background color...
