received a prize?

- Yes. When the NHL Mighty Ducks of Anaheim became a team, they
had a contest to name their mascot. I won that contest. His name is
Wild Wing. :)

- Never.
My mother did though. She won an E-Type Jaguar. A pedal car version.

- Yes...I have...and the first one was when I was a little
girl...it was for a poem I'd sent into a magazine that was around at the
time...a kid's magazine called "The Chuckler's Weekly". In the
Fifties, it was a very popular children's magazine filled with
information on all things from history to art and crafts, riddles,
cartoons...it was great.
Just before my ex and I separated we won a car...or I should say, "he won a car".
I won a mountain bike in 1994 by entering a Coca Cola competition...but I gave it away to the local radio station for them to give it away (anonymously - I didn't want any recognition) to a child who would get pleasure from such a bike.
And I've one a few other minor bibs and bobs from other minor competitions...but I've only ever one one meat tray. But then, I rarely buy tickets in meat trays...that could be the reason why!!! :)

- About 20 years ago I won $100.00 worth of groceries. We were a
young married couple with a baby and really needed it at the time.
I don't usually enter contests these days because it is usually just a ruse to get your information.
What about you?

- When I was 10, I won a raffle, and the prize was a little red
radio. That radio stayed in my room and played the Top 10 and more until
I went to college.

- I've won several small prizes, one was a camellia in a pot when I
was 15. From those crossword/puzzles books I've sent in many entry
forms and once won a kit containing a cape, comb and a flat brush for
applying hair dye, another time I won another puzzle book. I also once
won $100 for correctly answering a quiz question on the radio.

- Mostly books from fellow writers. Ya know, comment for a chance
to win a free new release. Beyond that, the majority of stuff I've won
over the years was money from playing the lottery.
Father Nature's Corner
- Not a competition, but I did win a small black and white
television in a drawing sometime in the 70's. My young son was asked to
draw a name and it was mine. Many cried "Rigged!" but I got to keep the
TV:-) About that same time I won a small radio alarm clock at a
company bingo party. Nothing since.

ReplyDeleteI won a drawing for tickets to see Crosby, Stills & Nash - back in the summer of 2011. It was a lovely concert.
ReplyDeleteNearest thing is winning some books in the Goodreads giveaway. Quite good & costs nothing.
ReplyDeleteA long time ago there was a drawing and one of my students was chosen from the audience to pick the winner. What a shock when he pulled my name. I got a $50 gift certificate to a restaurant. That student also won a prize in the essay contest. We were all winners that day.
ReplyDeleteI have won a few over the years, always a treat.
ReplyDeleteNo, never. And I think it's about time I did!
ReplyDeleteI won a HUGE stuffed Speedy Gonzales doll at Busch Gardens because I'm a good shot. I've also won gift certificates and free dinners over the years but mostly for answering questions correctly.
ReplyDeleteI won a gift certificate to a sporting goods store 20 years ago. I used it to by some clothes. More recently I won an Xbox gaming system in a draw at a professional event. I gave that to my friend who has a child. The kid sure was happy!

ReplyDeleteI won a "Most Original" trophy at a talent contest singing "Warnin" my song about cigarettes.
