Do you believe in marriage?
- I believe in marriage. Some work, some don't.
But two people who love each other enough to want to make it work should be allowed to marry.Gender makes no difference to me. Let them marry.

- Yes, but it does get harder all the time to believe in it.

- I believe in it 100 percent. If two people click and enjoy each
other's company, it can be the most beautiful experience in the world.

- Yes, I do believe in marriage. Not mine, but the concept in general.

- I have never married, but do believe in love. As a symbol of
that love? Of course I believe in marriage. For anyone who wants it.

- If a couple wants to marry they should go for it. But it is also
just as fine to not marry. If I was to do it again I would not.

- I guess since we're going to celebrate 50 years soon, I'd better say yes!

- I just attended a fiftieth wedding anniversary complete with renewal of vows. It works for some.

- For some I do. If that's what they want.
Personally, I would never marry again. Twice was more than enough for me!
And personally, I'm not judgmental of those who choose to be together without marriage...without signing the piece of paper.
Through the years when I was cooking professionally...I could never see the point in huge weddings (I still don't)...and the fancy dresses etc. To me, it all seems like such a waste of money. That's just my opinion.

- I have been married, I believe in marriage, I believe in marriage between a man and a woman. Marriage is a time honored tenet.

- I'm not sure believe is the word I'd use. In the Bible it says
people should marry if they can't control their sexual desires, but it
is better not to be married. It also says marriage will not be easy.
Ain't that the truth. :D

- Yes I do, I had one for 28 years and despite the fact it wasn't a
very happy one I don't regret it as I had my two sons. Then I had 34
years of happiness in my second marriage and that will last me for the
rest of my life.

ReplyDeleteMy husband and I lived together for two years before we married and it's lasted for 33 years. I think marriages go wrong when you pick the wrong mate. I tell my daughters to never settle because the right one is out there you just need to find him... or her... or it. It's crazy nowadays.
ReplyDeleteI do - I'm wasn't good at it and have not found anyone I wanted to go through that again with, but I do believe in marriage. My late parents had a wonderful marriage - I hold it up as an example.
ReplyDeleteNext week we fly to Boston to attend the wedding of our youngest son. With all my heart I do hope he is happy for the rest of his life. A good marriage can make it so, or not so. I shall read a poem and hope for the best.
ReplyDeleteGranny, you grew up in a time when marriage meant something, i am of the opinion that the meaning has sadly degenerated to something not of the heart, but of a legal contact only and so i no longer believe in it.
ReplyDeleteTo a degree, yes.

Yes, although if you'd asked me ten years ago I would have said no. My second husband had to do a lot of convincing to get me to try again!
ReplyDeleteIf two people want to get married, let them. It should be everybody's prerogative.
ReplyDeleteBrite Mist's comment was interesting. It's what my son and his partner believe also.
ReplyDeleteNice.
ReplyDeleteI have also started blogging and would love to share such stuff with readers. The LookBook
Just went to my brother's 40th wedding Anniversary. I believe it's good for some n not for others. I'd need a partner n not a master myself....
