Who can believe that March has already arrived? It is coming in like a lion here with severe thunder storms. Because of the art challenge, the month of February passed for me in the blink of an eye and now it is time to think about paying bills, taxes and politics.
Before jumping into all that I gave myself a day off yesterday and watched SPOTLIGHT after seeing it win so many awards at the Oscars. (And speaking of the Academy Awards, my goddaughter Jessi who works for The Academy, was there again on the red carpet chatting up Michael Keaton and having her picture taken with Sylvester Stallone!! Stay tuned.)
Anyway back to my relaxing day....watching SPOTLIGHT was not relaxing at all. Great movie but I was on the edge of my seat and recommend it to all who have not seen it.
I have not seen the movie, but have heard many recommendations. I will have to get around to seeing it one of these days.
ReplyDeleteI have not seen the movie but I will look for it. As for your goddaughter, I'd love to see pics of her with the celebs. How exciting!
ReplyDeleteI have not seen it, but will not be shocked by its vast cloak of guilt as I have followed this terrible scandal across our nation and in other countries for years. I have a deeply devoted Catholic relative who in mid-30's is not only losing his Catholic faith...this has caused him to question his belief in a God that allows this to happen to so many.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's already March either. How time flies. I haven't seen Spotlight yet. My partner has walked the red carpet at the Oscars. I, on the other hand, haven't. :D
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen Spotlight, but have heard lots about it. It is particularly relevant here since we are the middle of a Royal Commission into institutional child abuse. The Catholic Church is not covered in glory. And they are not alone.
ReplyDeleteWow, how cool to have your goddaughter in the exciting mix. Maybe next year she could take you as her plus one.
ReplyDeleteit's March? Tho the weather certainly feels like it. I still feel that there will be one more "Winter's blast" before spring finally comes!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to watch the red carpet show and the Oscars with my friends while in Florida - I usually watch it by myself. We dropped out, one by one, as the evening grew later. My bedroom had a little TV, so I slept through the end, but heard that Spotlight won - I need to see that.
ReplyDeleteIt is that time of year - as you say. Glasses tax and teeth for me. Oh joy!
ReplyDeleteI rather guessed that Spotlight would be gruelling but hope to see it eventually.
I haven't watched the movie either, but I tend to be slow about movies at the theaters. I'd rather wait for the DVD. I haven't even watched the new Star Wars movie. That speakes volumes.
ReplyDeleteAnnie, hope since it came in like a lion, it will go out as a lamb. It snowed off and on here today and blew so hard I didn't go out for exercise. I was afraid of being clobbered by a falling tree! I'll add that movie to our list.
ReplyDeleteGlad she made the Oscars again! Cool- You did so many faces, I'll be awhile catching them all! Good work- You deserve the rest!
ReplyDeleteA worthy winner of Best Picture; and the timing - with our own Royal Commission going on here at present into sexual abuse within the Catholic Church (and the involvement of Cardinal George Pell - his knowledge of it etc., etc.,)- was spot on (no pun intended).
ReplyDeleteNext time your god-daughter is chatting with Michael Keaton ask her to tell him I'm a huge fan! I always have been and I was so pleased he won an Oscar for his role last year in "Birdman". It was an excellent movie; and he was excellent in it. I've always felt he was the best Batman, too. :)
I saw Spotlight with my mom, and we both thought it was super. That's saying a lot, because we're both really picky when it comes to movies.
ReplyDeleteReally? Your goddaughter? That is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the recommendation. I'll try to borrow the movie when it comes out in DVD.
