ICE WIND AND ............ SNOW

We had sleet the night before and then awakened to a heavy snow covering.
The normally busy highway through the center of our town was quiet.
My neighbor cleared path to the barn for me.
Never had good neighbors like this when we lived in town.  The country spawns an entirely different breed of people.  They don't crowd you but they are there when you need them.

I don't like snow and ice. I had enough of it when I lived in New York for 5-1/2 years back in the 1970s.

  2. It really has been a brutal winter, hasn't it? It looks like you really got a lot of snow and ice there! Be careful! (Rob)

  3. Yes, it is cold indeed. It is very nice of your neighbors to help clear a pathway for you.
    Take care of yourself.

  6. This is what you mean by a milder winter than last year's? Yikes. I'm glad you have the best neighbors.

  7. I love my neighbors. So true about those who do not crowd but are there when needed.

  8. I've lived in snow country all of my life. We're used to it... well, most of us. Some people here are getting into wrecks like people that aren't used to dealing with it. We went from a balmy 32 degrees & then a "wintry mix" at night to -34 windchills yesterday (actual temp was 1) to an actual temp of -26 this morning. It's not often Lake Superior freezes over, but it's looking like this will be the 2nd year in a row. Hello Siberia ... I don't want your fronts here!!!

  9. Some city folks don't even know who their neighbors are. Country folks don't ride in your hip pocket but are there when you need them--without asking. Love em.
    Stay safe and warm.

  13. Oh wow. I wonder how much longer before the East feels some spring-like weather? Here in OR we have spring-blooming flowers galore. It has been too mild.

  14. Nice to have neighbours like that. We live in a town but ours are good, there if we need them. We always speak or have a bit of a chat on the way out or in but we don't live in each other' pockets.
Hope you get some better weather soon.

  17. No snow here but if it comes I'll hibernate. Great neighbours you have.

  18. Our neighbor has constantly shoveled our walk ways and he's not a young whipper snapper either... he's of a pleasant retirement age....I wouldn't want a better neighbor!

  19. Thought I already commented here earlier...?

    Oh Well,
n the snow well is so high here, you'd be stuck in the house!
I had to shovel the whole thing again after doing it all yesterday! Walk, driveway, path to side deck stairs, deck...
Yep, cabin fever sets in after awhile!

  20. TO ALL: I still give thanks that this winter for us is not as bad as last year. However many of you seem to be getting more than your share. And of course I should have knocked on wood.

  21. That is really nice to have good neighbors, especially in bad weather. Did you dig out? I am just catching up on blogs.
