"Cotton Candy was invented by a dentist."

  4. lol @ Lynn's fact. Obviously that dentist was hurting for patients (no pun intended!) :)

The most interesting fact I learned, eons ago, is that the human hand has 27 bones in it. Twenty-seven! That still intrigues me. What remarkable and complex beings we are!

  12. now you have me thinking and for me it was the survivability of Dragon flies and Mosquitoes (since I believe the earth is old) they are 100's of millions of years old and survived calamities that wiped out greater creatures!

  13. When I was a very little girl I found out that every star I saw in the night sky was actually somebody else's sun and the only reason they looked so small was that they were so far, far away.

I remember being struck with awe and wonder for days afterwards.

That little girl still lives inside me and there is no end to the stuff that stirs her/my curiosity.

  16. There was one thing my mother told me I've never forgotten and I repeated it to my girls - when she was born the egg that would be the start of me was born at the same time, when I was born the eggs that would produce my children were also born at the same time and when they (my female children) were born their children were also waiting patiently inside them t
    Take care

  18. You can go forever without sex, two weeks without water, one week without food, but you can't go three entire days without sleep, or your body will do it no matter what else you are doing.

I learned this from my old Cranberry boss, Jack, in the early 80's.

At my current job I've learned that when it's a body part verses metal, the metal always wins... (so many injuries when to tired too!)
