WHAT'S FOR BREAKFAST

Olive and Princess Leia did not show up for breakfast.  I found them dining elsewhere.  This was what was left of their breakfast.

Did the cats kill this snake or did the chickens or the guinea fowl?  Regardless I love my critters!!!

This is a copperhead.  The cats were eating remnants of a copperhead snake!!!

  2. Do your guineas actually kill snakes. Mine never did, they were funny idiots, but they would gather and stare at the snake. So you knew there was a snake that way. Then again we don't have copperheads, just jingle worms (rattlesnakes).

  4. We have had cats who killed snakes. Expertly. And the same cats also 'killed' the vacuum cleaner tubes if I left the suck monster out.

Now you have me wondering. I have seen my chickens running with a dead snake and I have seen my cats take a dive into the bushes after a hissing noise but I have never actually seen my guinea fowl attack a snake though I have heard they are supposed to kill snakes.

I guess I won't find out about the vacuum hoses because my cats are all outside.

  9. I love me my cats. They do go after snakes, and they leave us mouse/rat presents at our door.

I try to capture any snakes that look non-poisonous before my cats get a chance to kill them.

I also try to capture any Bufo mirinus toads because they can be dangerous to pets.

Seriously, Florida is place filled with wildlife that you don't want to confront.

  13. I hate snakes, and as far as I'm concerned the only good snake is a dead snake. I have a real phobia about them. And more particularly since my much beloved cat, Ruska was taken by one when I lived on Hinchinbrook Island.
