What is
something
new you
have learned
to do
recently?

(And they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks!)

  1. I am learning to say no. Finally.
It is part of my plan for looking after myself. A work in progress. And not before time.

  2. Be more patient with my husband. He has always been the strong one and I now realize I have to be strong too!

  3. How to be content to work with my non-dominate arm, though that is all better now. Still it was interesting putting "lefty" to work. What a slacker it had been most of my life.

  4. I just replaced my old clamshell style phone with a smart phone. Talk about steep learning curve!

You can teach me how to do this once you learn it. It is my most difficult task.'

It will come to you, believe me. Sometimes it has to.

    Arkansas Patti
Tough obstacle but one you will overcome I have no doubt.

You and me both. We're only 14 years into the 21st Century so we are not that far behind on joining in.

The newest thing I've learned is to be mindful of my colorful language around my new Christian friends. Believe it or not, it's a struggle. I typically have no filter, but for whatever reason, I feel like I have to clean it up around them. I'm not sure how I feel about that sometimes.

  11. To make meatballs that don't fall apart in the skillet while cooking.
My aspirations are rather low these days.

  12. How to keep my mouth shut, well sorta, maybe, ok not so much, but I am working at it as part of the gracious older lady thing...

  13. I've learned that age is mostly a state of mind - I may be ancient but I can still feel young at heart.

One of my best Christian friends cusses better than anyone.

Okay, now I have to research Pickleball. I know I like the name of the game.

    Changes in the wind
I know what you mean. There are too many buttons to push just to make one copy.

    Lisa
I have heard of that but never tried it. I can separate eggs the old fashion way.

So if you learned this, what did you learn? I wonder how to do this myself.

    Brighid
Duct tape is the only way.

    Barb
Yes it is a state of mind and it is also a state of physical inability. My doctor reminds me that most of my maladies are due to my AGE!

    Lee
    Me too.....lol

  16. I've had, what my daughters call a "stupid phone" for years. Finally about two weeks ago, I got around to activating my new smart phone and I've been learning how to use it.

Today my daughter referred to my phone as 'Penelope'. I asked how she knew that. Dad told me that's what you named your new phone.

    Word gets around fast nowadays...

    So, world meet Penelope.

Hello Penelope. I would introduce you to my new smart phone but it doesn't have a name yet.

  19. My daughter's phone broke and a new one is being delivered via express mail. Because she has school and work, I offered to let her use Penelope for two days... it's only been one day and I already miss her.

My daughter is known for phone accidents. When she left the house this morning I told to be careful and to take care of Penelope.

  20. I had to go away and think about this, but it has to be standing up to my mother. It's taken years but I'm finally doing it.

  21. I learned a digital recorder n a digital radio from radio shack. First with a gift card, second had a $10 coupon for. 2 days per week can wear radio with buds at work. Was tough to concentrate the first day.

    Snaggle Tooth
Music is always a good thing.

  25. I have learned to ask for help more often as it applies to my hands (I'm pretty sure you know the background story to that), especially at work.

Also, I learned how to perform original writing using Dragon software on my old computer, which will come in handy as I will have to purchase an updated version for new one next year.

  26. Penelope made it back just fine. A few changes were required, but they were only settings that could easily be adjusted.

Maybe we should introduce Zack to Penelope... we might get some free phone upgrades ;-)
