NEW TRICKS

have learned
to do
recently?
(And they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks!)
How to be content to work with my non-dominate arm, though that is all better now. Still it was interesting putting "lefty" to work. What a slacker it had been most of my life.
The newest thing I've learned is to be mindful of my colorful language around my new Christian friends. Believe it or not, it's a struggle. I typically have no filter, but for whatever reason, I feel like I have to clean it up around them. I'm not sure how I feel about that sometimes.

I learned to make Orecchiette with Sausage Meatballs, Broccoli Rabe and Garlic. Well - I mostly watched my sister make it, but I got the recipe. So good!
I've had, what my daughters call a "stupid phone" for years. Finally about two weeks ago, I got around to activating my new smart phone and I've been learning how to use it.
Today my daughter referred to my phone as 'Penelope'. I asked how she knew that. Dad told me that's what you named your new phone.
My daughter's phone broke and a new one is being delivered via express mail. Because she has school and work, I offered to let her use Penelope for two days... it's only been one day and I already miss her.
My daughter is known for phone accidents. When she left the house this morning I told to be careful and to take care of Penelope.
I learned a digital recorder n a digital radio from radio shack. First with a gift card, second had a $10 coupon for. 2 days per week can wear radio with buds at work. Was tough to concentrate the first day.
Has been hard not having music at work for such monotomy! But messes me up to have it sometimes, need it off...
I have learned to ask for help more often as it applies to my hands (I'm pretty sure you know the background story to that), especially at work.
Also, I learned how to perform original writing using Dragon software on my old computer, which will come in handy as I will have to purchase an updated version for new one next year.
I am learning to say no. Finally.

Be more patient with my husband. He has always been the strong one and I now realize I have to be strong too!

I had to go away and think about this, but it has to be standing up to my mother. It's taken years but I'm finally doing it.

Penelope made it back just fine. A few changes were required, but they were only settings that could easily be adjusted.
