Happy New Year

NOT SO QUIET

My sister and I model elegant scarves made by sil for our Christmas gifts.
Bil and my son do not want to be left out so they model scarves too.  Bil is Leo the Lion.
Exciting game of Chicken Foot with my sister as score keeper.  That is not right.
Smug look on my son's face as he believe himself to be the winner.  There is some debate as my sister was keeping score.
Who ever said you need a large crowd of people to have fun on Christmas Day.  We had the most wonderful time and lovely dinner at my sister and bil's home.  And believe me, four people can be as rowdy and twenty.

It's great you celebrated Christmas with family. My younger daughter was alone in Vegas.

  2. I enjoyed seeing these photos! Looks like you had a wonderful day. I love love love to play chicken foot and was one of the things I had planned had my family been able to come to my home for Christmas! 3 more family members have this same crud I have got. Just read about the swine flu and hope that is not what we have. Thank you for sharing your photos. You look like a fun bunch!

  3. No matter the number if Love and Laughter are there.

  4. Chicken foot? A new one on me.
Love and laughter build the numbers like nothing else.
    Love those scarves too.

  9. Beautiful elegant scarves. And looks like you had a great time. GA I note that your pics lack clarity - they are not sharp enough. Is there a problem with the camera?

  10. As long as everyone is in sync the fun times roll! Numbers totally unnecessary.

Your Christmas celebration on your blog looked wonderful but it was obvious you missed your daughter who was alone in Vegas. But, I have to ask, is anyone ever really alone in Vegas? Hope she had a good time despite missing her family.

As I told you on your blog post, I had this awful virus and am so sorry that you are going through this at Christmas. Hope you are better very very soon. I am a relative new player to Chicken Foot and love it so much. Our family traditional family game from my maternal side of the family is Wahoo. Often we have to argue the fact that it is not Aggravation and that is very aggravating.

I shall quote you often. “No matter the number, if Love and Laughter are there.” Well said my friend.

You must learn Chicken Foot. It is easy and gives you to opportunity to vent your competitive nature. At least it does me mine:) Our sil let us select the colors we wanted in the scarves and we could not be happier. They are gorgeous. She is quite the artist.

It was a good day Olga. Thank you. Now you must learn to play Chicken Foot. It is a hoot. I am eager to know how the bike riding goes in Florida and if you soon will be getting a tan. However your light complexion seems to guarantee more of a burn. Regardless, you will make the best of it.

FUN folks for sure. So how was Christmas in the new house? Were you unpacked enough to relax and enjoy. Love you and have been thinking of you this holiday season.

Oh yes, we could have been four duds. Now that would have made up a sorry gathering wouldn't it? I actually do not know four duds.

    Chatty Crone
Yes, the caption under that photo calls him “Leo the lion”. That was what he was going for in the scarf. lol

It was a great time and my sister and I cherish our scarves. Yes, there is a problem with the camera but primarily there is a problem with the photographer. lol My pictures are never posted there for contest value but for sharing memories. You will hear the family say, “Take the camera away from Granny quick.” Actually the header photo is a snapshot I took off my surveillance video.

  12. I so agree on the rowdy factor, Ann -- it has nothing do with numbers. :)

The scarves look warm, but fancy - perfect combo for lifting winter spirits. And I LOVE that header of Slim. He looks like he's having a blast. :)

I love those scarves! I need to learn how to make them.

I've never heard of chicken foot either, so I'm going to look for it in a store. My family loves to play games when we get together.

  14. Looks like a fine time! I used to play Chicken Foot with my mom and dad. I couldn't believe it when he decided to start playing with us. :)

I'm so glad you had a happy Christmas.

  19. It's quality of company that counts, not quantity.

Hey, guess what - I also spent my Christmas playing table games! So much fun, isn't it?

Slim was having a blast. The snow is a favorite thing for her and she likes to pretend she is a snow plow. The fancy scarves were very warm. Always nice to serve a dual purpose.

It was very interesting to watch my sil make those scarves. She let my sis and I both select our own colors. Last night we played Chicken Foot at the church new years party and it kept everyone awake until the stroke of midnight.

    Lynn
I am glad your dad would join in with the family. Ron would not play mindless games like Wahoo or Chicken Foot. He only wanted to play games of skill so he could whip everyone else. He was a big show off:)

    Riot Kitty
You are so right (as always). It is all about the rowdy.
