Spoiling is absolutely the very best thing one can do anywhere and anytime for someone we love and certainly for someone as cute as this one.

ReplyDeleteNo - I didn't ever have fall break, but when I was her age summer lasted from June until the end of August.
I truly don't want to rush my life and even more don't want to rush my daughters life but I sure do dream about being a grand parent. I have it all planned in my head the spoiling I'll do and the summers I'll plan to save my daughter money on summer camp and the days that I'll watch the little one when schools closed. In my head no matter where she lives I'll move close so I can be there at a drop of a dime.

I don't remember having a fall break, but we seemed to always have a week day off school during the Tulsa State Fair every year.
ReplyDeleteI had forgotten that we both have granddaughters named Hope...it looks like they are close to the same age. My Hope is an 11 year old 6th grader.

ReplyDeleteHope sure is cute! Spoiling is the best thing about being a grandparent. I don't remember where I saw it or who said it but I saw a quote that said: (re: parents/children) SAY YES MORE THAN YOU SAY NO. I wish I had that advice when I was a parent of 4 babies in within 6 years. I did a pretty good job at saying yes but there were too many times when the kids wanted to stop and look for bugs or some such thing and I said no, we have to hurry. With my grandkids I say yes as often as possible.

ReplyDeleteThe yearly terms were quite different in England when I was growing up. We had what they called half term probably about the end of October beginning of November

We never had a fall break. The only "break" we had was the spring one in March. And if you live in Canada, you know March isn't the best month to have time off because it's a crazy month and you could be buried in snow or showing off your new shorts. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are correct Grannie...only time will tell how the ACA will really work, I am optimistic, although I think once this president is gone the insurance companies will make every effort to thwart this as it interferes with them making big bucks.

It was a lot easier grandparenting with Ron's help but now all our grands are old enough I can manage them by myself thankfully. Sure miss my buddy helping me though.

Yep, are Hopes are the same age and same grade in school. Our Hope was born in June, 2002.

No she doesn't go to year-round school but she does go to private school. However it seems all of Oklahoma schools are on a Fall break, even the colleges.
