What is the first thing you do when you wake up?
What is the last thing you do before you go to sleep?
When I wake up, I put on my glasses.
Before I go to sleep I turn on my bi-pap machine.

Have a pee. Go downstairs and put the kettle on.

I hit the snooze alarm at least two times. :)

Before bed I brush my teeth. In the morning I get up and go to the bathroom,,,hopefully in that order.

The first thing I do is walk to the kitchen to turn on the coffee pot. The last thing I do is read a book for a while before I turn off the light.

ReplyDeleteLast thing before I sleep, I say my prayers including the one I first learned as a child, "As I lay me down to sleep..." :)
When I first wake up, I look at the clock and hope that it is not really time to get up!

First thing get up and put a gown on....last thing pee. Not too exciting I must say.

ReplyDeleteLast thing is put Suzzie in my bed. She's too short to jump up on her own & will whine non-stop when she realizes I'm in bed & she's not.
Some times I don't even realize when I fall asleep on the sofa. I get so tired from waking up in the middle of the night with shortness of breath, it seems like I am always sleeping. On rare occasions that I used to sleep like normal human beings, I would listen to music before falling a sleep and sometimes even the first thing in the morning it would be music. I used to wake up my kids with the song , there is a season turn turn turn.
ReplyDeleteWhen I wake up it the bathroom and then make the coffee. When I got to sleep it is turn off the Kindle and the light.
ReplyDeleteFirst thing in the morning is make the coffee. Last thing at night is decide what I'm listening to as I go to sleep. It's either an audio book or an NPR podcast. Sometimes I don't make it through the first five minutes, but it keeps me from having the night-time worries!
ReplyDeleteTotally wondering what your post title means...I usually wake up before the alarm, so I turn it off so as not to disturb anyone. Last thing, give the kitties a cuddle and Mr. RK a smooch.

Bonnie (BIZ) -- I can just picture poor little Suzzie trying to get on the bed. Slim does not sleep on our bed with us (at least we don't think she does.)
Munir -- What a sweet memory you must have created for your children by playing music to wake them with.
Susan Adcox -- Once the "nite-time worries" start it is hard to tame them.
Riot Kitty -- Bells, whistles, sirens, balloons, streamers...congratulations! You are the first to ask "why the title". If my father didn't awaken us with "Rise and Shine" or "This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad" he would awaken us with "Up Spot, Jump Puff". It must have been from his elementary school days. So you discriminate by cuddling the cats and smooching Mr. R.K.? Shouldn't the kitties get a smooch once in a while?
I usually watch tv news for 10 minutes n the weather report before getting up, put in eyedrops, go. to the bathroom, then feed Mischief

Snaggle Tooth -- We do not have a TV in our bedroom but I would turn it on first if we did. I want to know the days weather and Ron says it doesn't help any to know what is going to happen. I learn from my computer.

First thing in the morning? After I start waking up, I will swat the cat off of my body (her internal alarm clock for breakfast and dinner is a thing to fear).

my brain and sleep is very odd-i'm not sure I'm ever fully asleep. when I decide to get out of bed and start the day (whether it's 2:30 am or 4:30 am) the first thing I do is put on socks. last thing before I try to go to sleep? turn off the tv. writing this makes me wonder if having the tv on before sleep keeps my brain awake all night.
