Passenger: 'It was pretty disgusting'  click this link to watch interview

NBC's Mark Potter talks with two passengers who are very happy to be back on land after their experience on board the disabled Carnival cruise ship.  These young ladies, Brittney and Kendall,  were very succinct and interesting in their telling of the nightmare experience and expressed their joy of being back on land.  The most striking thing about the interview was the ending when one of the girls mentioned the fact that they did better than a lot of the passengers because they had hope and had started their trip with a verse from Joshua 1:9  At that point  the newsman brought the interview to an abrupt halt.

As the girls walked away the one said "Joshua 1-9 Look it up." and so I did.

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

  1. And He will be with us wherever we go. That is so wonderful that she got that message across.

  2. Lynn -- She barely got it across. I couldn't believe how abruptly the reporter ended the interview the minute she mentioned their faith and a scripture verse.

  3. I did not see the interview but most TV stations do not break away when someone mentions how their faith got them through. It might have been his producer that pulled the plug afraid the girl was going to go into a long treatise. I do think attitude is the key to surviving this and these two girls clearly had the right focus and courage and their faith kept them at peace. Sounds like a few others had the attitude of what is mine is mine and what is yours fell on the floor over there. What a nightmare. I do not do cruises because I feel they are confined artificial fun. I need to walk, explore, bike, etc.

  4. Tabor -- There were thousands of people and I have yet to hear where any one of them stepped in to help in the crisis. It seems they expected their cruise treatment to remain the same throughout the traumatic events. You can click on the link I posted to see the actual interview and realize what I meant.

  5. I saw several interviews where people talked about how their faith got them through. Some even talked about having group Bible studies in the evenings.

  6. My brother won a cruise for his wife and himself to go in summer time. I was first very happy for them. Now I am kind of worried.

  7. The media usually bash Christians for being intolerant. I don't get that.

  8. Well good for them. I'm glad they got the best of NBC. It was no doubt intentional. It wouldn't fit the agenda.

  9. And why would he end the interview? If their faith got them through, that is part of the story. And an important part.

  10. I am glad they got that across. I just saw the same girls on ABC's 20/20 and that wasn't mentioned.

  11. Granny Annie - supposedly an Local Newspapper wanted to do a story on me specificaly about my retirement, involvement in well water and my battle with the tumor aftereffects and i explained to them that my Christianity would be part of any thing in my life and it took a week for them t get back to me (I may have pushed a bit because i know a fellow blogger who works with the reporter and i told him about the delay0

  12. I just saw this blog. Don't know how I missed this. But God has His ways of getting His word out there and even though these girls had their interview cut short because of their faith, you picked up on it and shared and who knows how many others. It's just a shame that Satan has such a tight grip on the world that he is trying to shut down Christians.
