TELL THE TRUTH

Question Of The Week  1-14-13

PICTURE # 1 Tidy Drawers
PICTURE #2 Messy Drawers
Which are you and why?  Picture #1 or Picture #2

So in all fairness I must confess that I am drawer #2.  I don't know why and I cannot remember how my mother used to arrange our drawers when we were growing up. Usually I start things out very tidy but it always ends up like that.

  1. Number 2, and because I have a little Oscar Madison inside of me. :D

  2. G.B. Miller -- Ha, ha, ha, ha!

  3. I'm somewhere in the middle. Not quite as tidy as number one, but much tidier than number two!

  4. LL Cool Joe -- Who is responsible for the condition of your drawers, you or your partner? Figured you would make a joke about "drawers".

  5. I'm mostly drawer # 2, but like you, they always start out neat. The funniest thing - I mostly end up pulling underwear out of the dryer - that's where the last load ended up and has stayed. :)

  6. i am #1, but do not ask me the shape of my desk - it gerts away from me! Limited space means i need as much order as posible to maintain my sanity. Since everything tends to go to disorder - it means i consantly have to put effort to keep it that way!

  7. Yes between the two I could say.

  8. I have some of each....most of my drawers are pretty tidy but any drawer with socks in it always lookes like #2.

  9. I'm a #2. But I blame it on the dryer. That's how they got messed up in the first place.

  10. My sock/undie drawer is always being tidied and it just never lasts.

  11. When I put things away from the laundry room it's drawer 1...a few days later it's looking more like drawer 2. Well, actually not THAT bad. I love having a neat, tidy home (including drawers and cabinets), however with my schedule and interests it's getting more difficult to keep the place immaculate.

  12. #2 in no time flat, and extremely pleased to see I'm not the only one.

  13. #1. Embarrassed to say it. I thought it was totally normal to hang things up by color and then by sleeve length, until I found out that one of my volunteers who has major OCD does that too. :)

  14. Looks like the interior of my car, too!!!

  15. Number 2 is my mine. But I keep my husband's like #1 because he could not stand the second one.

  16. I have resorted to the use of clear plastic laundry bags n plastic sealing-lid bins. Dressers are all full of books or stuff like game cartridges here.
I'm allergic to dust mites, which can infiltrate fabric in 2 weeks time- so try to keep the clean stuff wearable for awhile. I hate not remembering which bag or bin to search for particular items I know I want... They all begin folded n stacked, but get messier with time as stuff is pulled out...

  17. Lynn -- You will see that you have a lot in common with Ileana. She too lives out of the clothes dryer.

Whitemist -- I would have guessed that you were drawer #1.

Changes in the wind -- My bet is that you are more drawer #1 than #2.

Jeanie -- There is no hope for any sock drawer.

Cliff -- Good way to pass the buck to an inanimate object. You were very smart not to blame Marilyn.

Marla and Steve -- I am still waiting to see what you call messy. You posted a photo once of your messy craft room and I keep going back to try and find what you saw as a mess in it.

Ileana -- As I said to Lynn, you both live out of the dryer. I must admit that happens around here also.

JeanMac -- Oh dear, let's not go there! My cars start out as neat as the first drawer and end up like #2.

Charlotte Crawley -- My husband would like for me to keep his like number 1 but I do believe he is very capable of folding and straightening. After all he was in the Navy 20 years~

Snaggle Tooth -- You would not have survived being in our home yesterday. We are having a new bathroom built and they had to jackhammer our slab floor. The cement dust looked like a fog. And here my poor spouse sat in it with his oxygen on.

To all, thanks for the comments. This question had a very interesting batch of answers. Basically we're all tidy but very busy too and straightening our drawers isn't a big priority. I feel much better.
