TAKE A DEEP BREATH
Question Of The Week 10-01-12
When was the last time you tried something new and how did it work out?
I've gone to the same hairdresser for the last 20-odd years, but now feel the need to find someone new. It's scary. I'll report on how it turns out. :)
I,too, just got an Iphone thanks to the kids. Thank God I had them to teach me, lol. Now I'm trying to teach Hut, which is proving to be a chore. He says he doesn't want one but he's always got mine. :)
I try to do something new every day. I really do. Today I made a ginger bread cake for the grandson when he gets home from school. What have you done new?
I just listened to a song off the French Kiss soundtrack after visiting Lynn's blog and I can't tell you what the lyrics mean but I loved the song. I don't think I've ever done anything like that...but I will again. :)
Bonnie -- Good for you! And you might as well give up on Hut.
Chatty Crone -- Ginger bread....YUM! I am getting ready to do something new. Will drive to an Diego and back. We've made the trip many times but never with me driving.
ashok -- You get to do something new EVERY DAY for a living? Now that is cool.
Whitemist -- New recipes and new taste delights are good new things.
Scarlet -- Thanks for making that available to others on your FB!
You always get me racking my brains. I tried a new eye make up - I think it was OK but something made my eyes smart so there were tears before bedtime.
Nancy -- Make it today and it will REALLY be something new. Just add the fruit flies for some extra protein. By the way, I saw a neighbor in town today and she was telling me how much they enjoy driving by our place and seeing Slim and Jed sitting side-by-side on the front porch.
Pat -- You are very brave to try new eye makeup. Sounds a bit like an allergic reaction. Yikes!
Hello Annie Not sure where my comment from the other day went - I was saying I'd tried to learn Tatting - an old skill similar to crochet and lace making. My fingers refused to cooperate - couldn't persuade them to get the tension right and thread the shuttle at the same time I'll lok out for your author at the libary next time I'm there Take care Cathy
Things that come to mind...new workout from a couple of weeks ago, and it has kicked my ass...new entree in a restaurant (I tend to always order the same thing, whatever my favorite is in that place), and I liked it, but thought my old favorite was best.
Food is the easiest thing to try, besides clothes/ colors. Some folks try foods- but I usually stick with the same, easy to eat, non-crunchy, tried before meals. But I did put a free, cut tomato in stew a few weeks ago, n it was so good I bought one to put in this week. It really enhanced the broth flavor.
I rented a Ford Fusion to drive to Maine n it had Sirius Satellite n a LED board spitting out stuff to read- but I turned it off- too distracting. Don't want too many gizmos surprising me while driving!
I wouldn't mind a few new gadgets around home to try tho-
Cathy -- No you did not tell me that you tried to learn tatting. My grandmother was a tatter and I own some of the beautiful pieces she made. She tried to teach me but I know what you mean about the shuttle tension and getting our fingers to work right. It is a dying art.
Riot Kitty -- I too have favorite things in certain restaurants and yesterday I made the mistake of trying something different.
Snaggle Tooth -- When Ron and I were dating he would look in my refrigerator and shake his head. I had a few of all the same things that served as my meals daily. The kids were gone and I only had to please myself and I was very pleased with repetition. Needless to say Ron changed all that.
I am so happy that you looked at my new border. Many bloggers never come to our home pages and never see our profile pics or side bars, etc.
Though I am a creature of habit in many ways, I have always been drawn to new technology. (Yes, I was the geeky girl who always volunteered to run the projector and mimeograph machine back in junior and high school).
Anyway, I recently learned how to Scype so that we could chat in real time with our youngest daughter who is away at college for her first semester. It helps bridge the distance between us.
Dear Annie ~~ Thanks for your comments, and like you I worried about the baby in traffic in the advt for HP Printer and Evian water.
About anything new, I often try a new recipe or a new version of an old one.I recently made a Col flavored jelly, also a Creamy soda one. If I didn't go shopping I would never know they existed.
I bought myself a new memory foam pillow recently. It's like sleeping on Spongebob Squarepants but I'm getting used to it. :D

Remember last year when I said I wanted to try something new and you gave me the recipe for banana bread?
I still have not made the bread and want to ask you how long do I have to make it..
I still have all the ingredients, including the original bananas and want to know whether I can still still make the bread at this late date.
Do you think my vanilla extract and my sugar are still good? I know the bananas should be just right by now.
Please answer quickly because I want to make the bread today so I can get these fruit flies out of my kitchen.

I normally don't watch any network programming, so for me to actually watch a network program is very new.
