FATHER KNOWS BEST |
If you could live in any home on a television series, what would it be? (If you don't watch television, then name the home of a friend you would choose to live in and tell why.)
I actually did grow up in the FATHER KNOWS BEST "Anderson Family" home. My dad much like Jim Anderson, my mom like Margaret, my brother was Bud, my sister Betty aka "Princess" and of course I was Kathy aka "Kitten". Perhaps it would not be a popular show for today. I'm having trouble thinking of a home in a current television series that I would choose.
That's so amazing - I loved Father Knows Best, too. My family was like that. I used to follow my dad around so much when I was little, that he called me Bud. I'm dismayed by this now, because I caused myself to lose that special nickname. I asked him to stop calling me that and that he should call me Kitten. :) Yeah - he just didn't understand and called me Lynn from then on.
ReplyDeleteThe Simpsons
ReplyDeleteLynn -- I'm going to start calling you "Bud":)
ReplyDeleteCliff -- Of course!
Mary's apartment (Mary Tyler Moore show)
ReplyDeleteBonnie (BIZ) -- And Rhoda for a best friend!
ReplyDeleteThat's a tough one...I don't watch TV, just the occasional BBC series on reruns. Maybe with Oscar the Grouch in his trash can? ;) Just kidding.
ReplyDeleteA British sitcom called 2point4 Children.
ReplyDeletehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2point4_children
The Mum and Dad were both very strong characters.
Definitely Mork and Mindy in Boulder Colorado.
ReplyDeleteI would love to be Mary Tyler Moore's roommate. I think she could finally throw a decent party if we conspired :)
ReplyDeleteRiot Kitty -- Oh you know you would be Count Dracula:)
ReplyDeleteLL Cool Joe -- I'll have to see if that is on Netflix. Love most British sitcoms. So would you want to be in the parent role or the child/children?
Marla and Steve -- Mork and Mindy Oh yes, I can see that it fits you guys. LOL
Talon -- Really? You're a party girl? Let's hear the plans.
as a Geek any Star Trek
ReplyDeleteOh definitely the Dad. He was like a 3rd child. :D
ReplyDeleteI'm going to choose Bill Cosby. I loved that show.
ReplyDeleteWhitemist -- Does that mean "Pick a geek, any geek"?
ReplyDeleteLL Cool Joe -- So I'm guessing you are the third child in your household. Wonder what show your partner would pick?
Kay -- Who wouldn't want to be a Huxtable? I would have to be Rudy:)
I grew up with my mother, father. my grandmother ( dad's side) and five siblings. I don't remember watching Father Knows Best. I came to the US in Dec 1974. May be I can see it on DVD.
ReplyDeleteOkay I loved this show - actually loved it and wanted my life to be like that so much.
ReplyDeleteI think the show today that I watch with my grandson is Good Luck Charlie.
Love, sandie
Munir -- Your post yesterday made my day. I have shared it with so many but they couldn't open the link so I found it on YouTube and shared it from there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYZxVHLr1U8
ReplyDeleteIt was adorable, hilarious, priceless. Thanks.
Chatty Crone -- I haven't heard of GOOD LUCK CHARLIE but I will try to find it and watch it.
Dear Annie ~~ I think The Brady Bunch got on so well and seemed to fun.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much my friend for letting me know I left the cocoa out of the recipe and it was so important.
I fixed it, but think I lost some of the post. I am so glad that you enjoy my Sunday Smiles. Take care, and Thanks again Love, Merle.
Merle -- I am going to feel badly if you lost part of the post but it does seem that the cocoa was an important part of the recipe. I wonder what the cake would be life if anyone mad it without the cocoa? Also I forgot to tell you that the position locator you had on the post was extremely accurate:)
ReplyDeletelol, Annie. I'm not really a party girl, but I always felt so bad for Mary - all her parties were such tremendous flops.
ReplyDeleteHope you and Ron have a fabulous Fourth of July!
I would love to live in the house in Miami with the "Golden Girls".
ReplyDeleteI loved Dorothy's remarks, and Rose's stories and Blanche's boy friends. Sophia was lucky to live with them and I would be,too!
I always laughed my head off with "All in the Family" and the character of Archie Bunker was pretty much my own dad...lol and then came "Married with children", which didn't resemble any family Iknew but was just dead funny.
ReplyDeleteThere isn't a 'Little Women' on TV but I'm inventing one and I want to be Jo, NOT Amy.
ReplyDeleteI used to always dream I was on Gilligan's Island with the castaways... Not really a family in the traditional sense-
ReplyDeleteThen There's the Cunningham's on Happy Days- Ed Bosley reminded me of my Mom sometimes with his reactions. Hey- Fonzie was cool too- That was more like my family life, but add 3 more kids n a few moew neighbors!
oh I don't replace anyone, But I'm just me joining in!
ReplyDeleteTalon -- You know I meant "party girl" in a good way:)
ReplyDeleteNancy -- There is no question that you are "golden".
Holland -- Good to see you here. It's been a while. Also I just knew someone would bring up All In The Family. Often I see Ron as Archie and me as Edith. Plus I loved Married With Children and believe it was popular because as absurd as it was, we could all see a little bit of ourselves or loved ones in the characters.
Pat -- Or should I call you Jo? Now that would make a good television show wouldn't it. I do think there is a Little Women movie though isn't there?
Snaggle Tooth -- Yes, Gilligan's Island folk definitely were a "family" much like the characters on Seinfeld. I would want to be Kramer on Seinfeld. The Happy Days family was a great one to remember. I would cast myself as Fonzie's girlfriend and yes I would want to "replace" in that instance:)
Well, due to Andy Griffith's recent passing living in Mayberry in that house with Aunt Bee could be a nice lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteTabor -- Good thought. Also it could have been pretty fun to live at the jail with Andy and Barney:) Guess you'd have to be Otis to do that. It is sad the passing of Andy Griffith.
ReplyDeleteWonder who will be next? Celebrities always die in threes.
