one of the best men who ever lived came along when I was 2 and said "Yes" I will take on the responcibilty for that little life and do my best to help her live in this world and not be Of It anymore than absolutely necessary and thats exactly what he did. I lost him at 19 but I give thanks for him every day and I can still hear his words whisper in my ears , even 38 years after he moved on to another plane of existance. I say his name and feel is presense and this morning upon awakening I told him, Happy Fathers Day Daddy and thank you for choosing me.

ReplyDeleteThis is so true of my husband and my sons. He took the package deal when we got married and ran with it. He NEVER calls my boys his stepsons, just his sons. And they call him Dad. I always get teary eyed when I take the time to think about how much those 3 love each other.
