  1. I regret not having children - my ex-company (a major telecommunications company that starts with an A) would have paid for adoption, too, and I never did it. Not meant to be, I guess.

  2. I hope my answer doesnt sound hokey:)

Can ya hear Frank Sinatra;s voice..
    " Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention"
" I did, what I had to do
and saw it through without exemption"...

"I faced it all and I stood tall and did it MY WAY"

My mind also goes to that 80's tv show- Quantum Leap. If I changed even one moment- what else would have changed? so, no regrets for me. It is as it was meant to be.

  3. I regret the way I've treated some people over the years. Not in the sense of being terrible, but I'm pretty cold and I think I've treated some people and family with neglect. I don't find it that easy to give of myself in an emotional way. I'm great at practical help but I'm not a shoulder to cry on.

  4. Lynn -- It is obvious how much you adore children. Wonder what led you away from that choice?

Sonny -- Wow, preach it girl! Excellent response.

  5. LL Cool Joe -- I find it difficult to believe that you have treated others badly. You seem to have a lot of empathy.

  6. I do not regret specific things but wish when I was younger I had read people better and lived in the moment more deeply.

  7. I think my attitude keeps me from regretting or at least trying to figure out where the mistakes were made. I'm kind of 'well this looks bad but I'll bet there will be good come out of it' amd ya know what, it usually does.
I'm going to do a post one day about the biggest regret I have. You can get a glimpse if you care to. This will sound a bit esoteric but if you go to my blog and go down and click on the title of the blog "That Giant Sucking Sound" it will take you to my biggest regret, a recording done of my daughter for (yes I was experimenting on how to put an audio recording on blogger) her spring recital piece her freshman year in college. I never missed anything that my kids did but I did miss this because of planting. It was in Sioux Falls at a huge cathedral. I should have been there. The applause at the end was cut way short by the recording. The piece needs to be played LOUD. She had the stained glass windows vibrating.

  8. I don't believe in regrets but just for you:
I regret not being a better person, not having a more charitable dispositon and not doing more to help others.
One can only try to improve.
    Before it's too late.

  9. Cliff -- The Giant Sucking Sound that I found is a political rant and has nothing to do with your daughter. No recording or anything. I regret not finding the one you were talking about.

Pat -- I don't have regrets either because anything happening differently would alter my future including the two great children of mine, etc. Hopefully we are all constantly improving.

  10. Did you click on the Title Line of the blog?
Rant? RANT? Would I do that?

  11. There are times when you sit and reflect on your life and how you got from point A - B, but I have to confess I don't have any regrets. Not so far anyway! :)

  12. It came down to the fact that as a manager there, I was working 10 hour days - sometimes more. And the baby would have been looking at a lot of daycare. Plus no family in town to add any support. I always think how old they would be now, etc...

  13. I regret not spending some more time with my Grandma Murphy.

  14. Cliff -- Oh I found it. I just did not understand. If we go back and click on all your blog titles will we find other things this wonderful? Instead of regrets, you should give thanks for the recording that you can share with the world. What a talented daughter you have.

Talon -- And what obstacles we all face from point A to point B.

Lynn -- The support of family is vital in the raising of children when you work outside the home and even when you don't. A hard decision but probably a wise one. Wise or not, no easier I'm sure.

  15. Debbie -- I'm pretty sure that is a major regret for many of us...more time spent with loved ones.
