We went out for lunch and rushing around caused me to fail to put on my earrings. Looking in the car mirror to check my makeup the naked ears were glaringly obvious. I might as well have been completely naked.
Watch? -- check. Necklace? -- check. Rings? -- check. Earrings? -- OMG!
Our first stop was the drug store to pick up a prescription and right next to the checkout was the jewelry display. Silver earrings on sale. "Do you need a sack for these?" the clerk asked. But when she looked up she could see them already in my ears.
Does a forgetful lack of accessories ever make you feel incomplete?
Yes, I hate forgetting my earrings, even more than my wedding rings...lol
ReplyDeleteI have taken turns forgetting with needed things when leaving for work, n usually can't go back for them. Like the Cell phone, work shoes (going to ruin another pair or wearing slippers) Kleenex, eyedrops, reading glasses, pens, ect- n have learned to bring back-ups stored in the truck. What I hate is riding with someone else n not having a back-up for say, tylenol when I have a headache...
ReplyDeleteHa ha, you are asking the King of bling this question??? I hate it when I realise I've forgotten my 6 earrings, watch, chains etc. Normally I go back home to put them on. I just can't bare not wearing them all.

ReplyDeleteI have lots of jewelry (mostly I've gotten things as gifts) but hardly ever wear it. That said, when I first got married it felt weird having a ring on that finger, but now I feel naked without it.

ReplyDeleteSnaggle Tooth – Actually I forgot my cell phone that day also. Had I been driving, I would have probably gone back but hubby was in control of the vehicle and had his cell phone we could use. Going back for earrings would not by something he could mentally compute as justified:)

Lynn – You are smart. From now on I think I’ll keep a second pair handy, just in case. If I could sleep in earrings I wouldn’t have a problem.

I rarely wear jewelry - just my wedding rings and typically a pair of small gold hoop earrings that I've had for 20 years. So if I didn't have them I probably wouldn't notice for a couple of days!

ReplyDeleteEver since I had a mastectomy 32 years ago, I always wear a necklace or pendant of some sort and feel naked without one. Years ago I went
shopping with my granddaughter and forgot my shoes, so we bought a pair first thing.

Funny earrings are the ONLY thing that make me feel naked if I don't have them on...even if lack of clothing is present...I still ONLY feel naked with no earrings! LOL
