PRIDE COMPETITION OUTCOME

It has been an exhausting five days for my grandsons and my son (one of the chaperons). They traveled to Indianapolis for their high school band The Broken Arrow Pride to participate in the Grand National championships. After winning first place in regional in St. Louis and State in Edmond, OK, they prayed to make the finals in Indianapolis as they competed among 90 other best in the Nation bands.

My grandson Dillon's comments on his facebook tell the story best.

DJH "Finals here we come!!"
DJH "oh yes finals wes epic"
DJH "Top 6 three years in a row!!!"
DJH "is tired"
DJH "couldn't have asked for a better day"

  4. Congratulations,Dillon. You must be very proud of your Broken Arrow Pride band.

I would be very pleased to know that my band was the crowd favorite. Take a bow!

My Grandson plays the saxaphone in his High School Band in Connecticut. He is just starting out so I hope he does as well as you have done.

  5. Congratulations to your grandson. I remember so well when my kids were in high school and had to take private music lessons until they graduated. One girl played baritone horn and the other one played trombone, both took piano. Their band always got exceptional ratings at state competitions and individually they had a ton of medals for solo contests, but I got a bigger kick out of watching them be majorettes in the marching band. My sisters, my sister-in-law and I had all been majorettes and they just carried on the tradition, but were self taught, because they were both lefties. Our son didn't do music...he was a trainer for athletic teams and learned so much about medical stuff by going to Miami of Ohio for trainer training. (Say that five times fast!) Gee, high school was fun.
