  3. So many Americans are totally removed from their food source. Grandson helped me pick out the turkey at the supermarket, but I am sure he really didn't know what it was.

  9. The chicken's name is June. She is not on the plate. That's an unknown, unnamed turkey. We never eat OUR chickens. But I guess I could post this picture in the hen house to put fear in them so they will keep producing eggs.

    When Michael, our grandson, picks up the camera you never know what he'll end up with.

  10. My uncle used to live on a small farm and they raised turkeys. We went there for Thanksgiving one year, and he was telling my parents how they'd had to stop naming the turkeys because my cousins were getting attached to them. Mid-bite, he looked at me and said, "That was #101!"

    I couldn't eat any more turkey after that! Until next Thanksgiving, anyway.
