Shame on the media who are scrambling desperately for scandalous and titillating news. I think they were disappointed in not having news from Gustav that was exciting! I think there are a lot of important questions that could be asked of Palin...but looks to me like she raised a pretty normal family, so her parenting skills are not on the table. (I am sure that she is not second-guessing herself on her belief in not having sex education in the schools.)

ReplyDeleteI don't hold Obama responsible for these kinds of attacks. Campaigns attack their opponents' policies, record, and qualifications which is fair game in my book, but attacking their young kids is really out of place.
I like Gov. Palin, and so far I am very impressed by her.
I have a feeling she will not be thrown off track by any of this.
I don't have much interest in watching the conventions (I didn't watch much of the DNC, and I won't watch much of the RNC), but you can be sure I'll be watching when she gives her speech!
I agree, the media doesn't know how to deal with a real person, a politician who is also a hockey mom, mother of 5, a beauty queen.who just happens to be running for Vice President of the Country---PHEENOMENAL!!!.
ReplyDeleteMy husband called me on the telephone on Friday and excitedly said "did you hear who McCain picked"? (We are McCain supporters). I did not know one thing about Sarah Palin. He filled me in on what he knew about her and I was immediately excited. A "real" person in the White House? Now THAT is exciting!!! By the way ... They make me mad with all this stuff and that's why I don't listen to the news all that much. I like Palin though. She seems to me more of what is needed in the White House. A real person who seems to have good common sense. I hope she remains that way through all this. I'm sure she'll have her work cut out for her!
