HERE KITTY KITTY

No more denial! There are mountain lions in Oklahoma. Thank God for the plate glass door. These photos are from a guy in Watonga, Oklahoma. The pictures were taken from his kitchen onto his patio deck. The critter was watching his little kids playing on the kitchen floor. My husband has often warned me not to run out the door to see why the dog is barking. I think I shall proceed more carefully in the future. This post was inspired by the photo on Judy's blog today.

  1. This is scary!! Especially if his kids were playing on the floor! What was the cat thinking...dinner?

  2. I am glad I inspired you, Annie, but GOOD LORD! I'd much rather see a deer or two than a mountain lion!!

  3. HOLY MOLY! At first I thought YOU took these at your house! It's still super spooky though! The cat watching the kids play makes me shiver!

Please don't run out that door in the dark to check on those dogs!

These photos have been around for about three years now. They claim to come from several different states like NH, CO, SD, and PA. Just look on the internet and you will find them if you look. Here is one version of it: http://archive.seacoastonline.com/2005news/04062005/maine/35344.htm

  5. So you say Party Pooper! I did research on Urban Legends before I posted it plus I researched Watonga, Oklahoma and Geary, Oklahoma and learned that Cougars are documented in that area. I allow anonymous comments but the writers usually identify themselves. Oh well, to each his own. We believe there are Mountain Lions in Oklahoma.

  6. Okay, okay I did some more research and have discovered this is a very controversial topic in Oklahoma. Many have spotted Mountain Lions and many others have discounted those spottings. Whew, who knew. Anyway, neat pictures, huh? Obviously they were somewhere and certainly no bobcat!

  7. I'd take NO chances on this matter!!
    SCARY!!!

As for Murder Mystery Parties. Yes, we actually hosted one several years ago. It was fun. We had a total of 8 people involved, and the evening was terrific!
    Enjoy!!

Is your dog tied up outside? How does he not get eaten?

  11. Its obvious that anonymous doesn't know what they are talking about. Yes there are cougars here in Oklahoma in 2006 there was a confirmed 6 cats in Cleveland county. And everyone knows that there are cats in the panhandle and southern Oklahoma. Anonymous get your facts straight before you start popping off at the mouth. Oh and my husband saw a cat 15 years ago in Wynnewood. Thats right SAW a cat!

  13. Your Welcome Granny.....I am a granny too...I came across your site because I did a google search on Mt lions because there is supposed to be one in our area that is what is killing all of our animals....*maybe*.....anyway I did some tracking and found tracks of either a very small cougar or the biggest Bobcat ever ....I really think they are bobcat though. Found some coyote tracks which suprised me because they all took off a couple months ago and are now southeast of us maybe a couple miles....which tells me something bigger then them lives here now...we can still hear them though but in the distance only....anyway my point was.... I came across your blog and just fell in love with you and your grandchildren! I am a fan now...LOL! I just recently had to give my grandbaby back to his parents after a year...I had him since 3 months. I miss him terribly and worry...but the courts seem think that the parents are fit to have him back now after a year of counsling and drug treatment. They have kicked me out of the picture, and I am heartbroke over it. So reading your blog and seeing the pictures of your family is very heartwarming to me....and I also am called granny by the grandchildrens...I have 7 Three are by marrage.

  15. I am from Oklahoma. Im trying to find documented accounts of very large black cats in Oklahoma after recieving a call last night that upon leaving my house my friend who was about 9 mi from the nearest town spotted a giant black cat headed toward a culvert on the side of the road. Black Jaguars have been sparcley documented in Texas. Every person from Ok has heard the stories from farmers and ranchers about large paw prints and sightings of such cats. I have no doubt they have found their way here. I appriciate the oppinions and I will continue my search.
