JESSI AT THE OSCARS

See Jessi on the red carpet. Can you find her? She walked in near Queen Latifa and spoke to her saying, "You look beautiful." Queen replied, "Back at cha." Jessi got close to Kate Winslet, her idol and she saw the L.A. Mayor, not her idol. Of course she saw Nicole Kidman because that is who is pictured here in the red dress. She and Joe saw Clint Eastwood in the bar before the show. Joe walked over to him and told him how much he admired his work. Clint turned toward Joe, squeezed his upper arm and said "Thanks." I guess Joe almost passed out. What a thrill for these kids!

People get so in the habit of worry that if you save them from drowning and put them on a bank to dry in the sun with hot chocolate and muffins they wonder whether they are catching cold.

DUST BATHS

Is it Spring? The last couple of days have been so beautiful! It is difficult to believe that we have been iced in so recently.

The chickens are delighted. The are running around outside like chickens with their heads cut off -- only they have their heads. Plus, they have found dry areas to take their dust baths.

Slim has been running to the neighbor's pond or down to the lake. Regardless of where, she is taking a nice swim someplace. Plus, she is having a delightful time rolling around with rotting corpses. I have learned that is something dogs do. She picks up a dead bird or dead mouse and rolls and rolls and rolls over it. YUK!

For a stinky dog, wet the dog and wipe with fabric softner sheets. It works miracles.

DRINK CUPS FOR THREE

Chelle called me laughing. Hope came running in the kitchen demanding three big cups immediately. Chelle ask why Hope needed these cups. Hope said, "The Pretends are here and they have a big thirst and need drinks right away!"

I WILL BE THERE THIS YEAR

It has been eight years since I watched the Oscars. I have been with Ron for eight years. See the connection? He is not a movie lover -- unless John Wayne is in it.

Anyway, I'm watching this year's Academy Awards come hell or high water. Jessi and Joe will be attending and I will watch every televised second in hopes of seeing them.

After all, I watched the entire Super Bowl just to see the newest Geico Caveman commercial. I still haven't seen it.

I must see my goddaughter Jessi! She will be wearing a va-va-voom, off the shoulder, black, slinky, beaded dress and will put all the stars to shame.

THE CONDEMNED'S LAST MEAL

Why are we condemned? Because we are heart patients and this is part of our dinner tonight -- apple pie. The entree is Chicken Fettuccine. I can't explain what has gotten into us, but we shall only have very tiny portions:-) My sister gave me the pie recipe. It is called "Really Good Pie" and it could also be called "Really Easy Pie". Yum, can't wait to report if it is as good as it looks.

SECOND PHOTO TEST

eBay, eBay, where-for-art-thou eBay?

It has almost been a full year since I sold on eBay. I have continued to buy, buy, buy, but no selling since we moved from Kansas. I've got the eBay itch and I watch Monica and all her wonderful auction items and get so jealous.

My flea market booth has not gone well. I have paid my booth rental every month, but that's about it. Now the manager of the location tells me we all have to move out because the building is being sold.

I've got a better booth lined up and it is closer to home, plus it has more traffic so hopefully I will do better when I move. Still, eBay is the way to sell. If I just didnt' have to store all the packing material. Anyway, if the new flea market booth does not go well, I'm going back to eBay.

SEE MY FISH!

The picture I posted of my fish has stayed on my blog almost 24 hours. Hip, hip hooray! Now, watch it disappear just because I am bragging. I didn't do a thing. It just worked.

I GIVE UP

Surely these photo posting problems will clear up. I'm going to give up for now and hope Google and Picasa will fix everything.

LET'S SEE WHAT HAPPENS

It appears I have successfully posted four photos of July, 1999. First I cleaned my cache after the list of suggestions from support@blogger.com. Then, I posted the photos and found them in my post area as "drafts". I clicked on Edit and then publish. We shall see what happens later. Thank you Jill for your information!

OLDIES BUT GOODIES

Who could forget that July, 1999? !!!

PICTURES POSTED AND SHOWED UP FOR
ABOUT FIVE SECONDS, THEN WOULD NOT
OPEN AGAIN.

WINDOW DOWN IN WINTER

The driver's side window is down in the van. We went for our Sunday drive and Ron opened his window at Twin Bridges to better see the frozen lake or something like that. The window would not close.

A few months ago that same window would not open. We had a new motor installed to the tune of about $200, and the window was healed. Now, same door, same window only it's frozen OPEN which is worse, especially when it is WINTER!

The repair shop cannot fix it until tomorrow. Ron had tried to at least close the window and the guys at the repair shop said, "We'll at least close it for you." but, no one could get it closed. The van is in the barn with plastic over the window and we're hoping the cats won't find a way in.

Our backup chariot is Ron's sexy '79 pickup truck. The truck and the man might be well aged, but together they sure turn me on. I especially love this man in the plaid flannel shirt when his cologne is grease and gasoline :-)

HERE TODAY GONE TOMORROW

Yesterday for some unknown reason I was able to post five pictures. Today they were gone. Oh woe is me.

bx-t8j6yl

I am attempting to post a picture to my blog. I was able to post one (1) (UNO) with ease after changing to the new blogger. Now I cannot post a single, solitary photo and I get a code bx-t8j6yl. The error tells me to report this number to receive instructions for correcting. The big problem is I can't find any place to report the code. Any suggestions anyone????????

FINALLY HE FOUND THEM

Big events remain in our memory. I will always recall the feeling when he reunited with his family. Did you see, and do you remember when Jack Bauer finally made physical contact with his missing wife and daughter?

Yes, I am watching the first season of 24 on my Netflix. This is the point I reached yesterday and don’t know if I can stand to move forward in the day. It was only noon when I left them. Already, at the end of the episode, they were parting ways again and I have a strong feeling it is only going to lead to more frustration.

I am determined not to watch 24 on television until I catch up through DVDs, but at the rate I’m going, it is going to take a while. Don’t tell me anything.

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star

The woman is all grown up. Her accomplishments these 30 years would fill a book. She has traveled outside the United States on several occasions. She has driven across the United States more than once, in her vintage Neon. She lives in LA and works in the film industry. She is loyal to her father. She is devoted to her brother. She has friends galore (especially Joe) and would sacrifice anything for them. I have to repeat to myself that “the woman is all grown up” because to me she is still a little girl. Her mother called me this day 30 years ago and asked me, “Do you think I should call the doctor, my water just broke?” Pat would be proud and amazed by her tiny princess daughter today. I am certainly proud of my goddaughter. Happy 30th Birthday Jessi!
