BOYS WILL BE BOYS by Granny Annie
Mom left the living room exasperated. Her sons were having another fight over their differences of opinions. She was too frustrated to try and stop another one of their petty disagreements.
Eddie's posture was suddenly straightened. He had taken enough abuse from the evening conversation with his brother and yelled. "Why do you always drive me nuts?"
The boys did not even notice their mother had left the room. Both knew that their mother would end up telling their dad. It was always as if brother Timothy was a judge and Eddie was waiting for the gavel to fall. Evidentially they were not following the family guidelines for this argument.
Timothy was simply beating around the bush. Eddie gave up and stormed out the front door, his face luminous bright red . He would go outside and leave his brother high and dry.
The argument would finally end when father returned from work. That is when the gavel would really fall and the heated discussion about who the neighbor Christy liked the most would be closed. They could never win without Christy's participation. Neither boy would receive a pardon from their dad for their foolishness and bothering their mother.
Kids arguing will make you crazy. Nice use of the prompts, thanks for playing along!
ReplyDeleteThose poor boys, each wondering, while Christy might just be laughing at both of them. I hope things get resolved without more argument.
ReplyDeleteGreat use of the prompts.
