QUESTION OF THE WEEK - 01-17-2022

If you are facing a criminal trial, would you select trial by judge or trial by jury?

  1. Actually, it would depend on the crime. I think ones that can be swayed by emotion might make a jury more sympathetic, but if ones can be swayed by detailed fact, than a Judge would be my call.

  2. Juries have trouble understanding the law. I think I would go with the judge.

Have a fabulous day and week. ♥

  3. I was going to say what Tabor said, so I will just say ditto!

  4. Too many variables. It would also depend on whether I was guilty or not. For justice to be done I would (mostly) prefer a judge.

  5. Me too on what Tabor said. Think she nailed my view point.

  6. I can't answer this. I would never be facing a criminal trial. Doing crime just isn't in my nature.

  7. Do i really want my fate in the hands of 12 people who couldn't get out of jury duty?

  8. That would depend on a number of things: One presumes knowledge of the law on the part of the judge, but recent events have shown that may not be true. The lawyers in real life are not nearly as clever as the ones on TV, and the jurors are swayed by emotion, not facts. I have to say, I just don't know. Best not to find yourself in that situation.

  9. Depends if I'm guilty or not. If I am I'd go with the jury.
