A bout with food poisoning worse than covid.
ReplyDeleteMine was also Food Poisoning. Husband traveling and in 1972 home alone with new baby girl and 15 month old son. Crawling around to take care of them and myself until my mom could arrive.
ReplyDeleteBack in the 80s I had the flu. I'd had the flu many times, but this one was the worst ever. I had no energy for about a week. I hope that never happens again.

Ruptured appendix when I was 10. The pain before it broke then the 50/50 chance of making it in the hospital. That was 72 years ago and treatment wasn't as effective as it is now.

ReplyDeleteWhen I caught the flu in 2013 and felt so awful for ten days, then back in 2010 I got food poisoning from the Christmas Lunch spread at work and on New Years Eve I took myself to the hospital and spent a few hours hooked up to a drip because I'd got so dehydrated being unable to keep even water down by then. I'd thought it was just a bug and hoped it would pass.

ReplyDeleteIn Jan 2020, I had what I'm 98% sure was a very mild version of our current pandemic ailment. Spent a week so congested that I had to sleep in our minimally heated basement, upright, on a very thin combo couch/bed, and had to take actual breathing treatments for the very first time in my life.
ReplyDeleteOh and, when I finally went to the e.r., they couldn't figure out what was wrong with me.
Definitely food poisoning. I couldn't leave the bathroom for 24 hours. Months afterward, I still had to watch what I ate.
