MORE THAN PETS by Granny Annie

Madeline had to get out of bed slowly to avoid any sign of dizziness. She also wanted to rid her mouth of that horrible metallic taste. Two large dogs seemed to be in agreement for slowing her down. They helped support the reality of the situation appearing in front of Madeline in a flash . It was their job to keep her from rising too quickly.

Was it possible tomorrow could be a better day? She smiled artificially at her sweet pups
and the way they
protested her movements. Madeline's heart broke as her head began to sway. She felt she was riding sea waves once more.

Would her doctors always be
stumped by her undiagnosed illness? Now she simply faced another day of labor/labour as her dear support friends monitored her every step out of the room and into another tedious day.

  1. Ouch, this sounds bad. At first I thought she was suffering from veisalgia, but it seems not. Mysterious look into a lady's life.

    1. I don't think support dogs would be needed for a hangover. LOL

  2. They do sense how we are feeling don't they? They are doing their job well. Hope she gets a diagnosis and cure that puts the dogs out of a job.

    1. My dogs keep an eye on me. When I fell out of the attic they both saw me and ran the other way. LOL

  3. Maybe, it was vertigo. It can be frightening when it hits without warning for the first time.
A good use of the prompts.

  4. Oh Dear, poor Madeline. I hope the doctors can find the problem, meanwhile she has the dogs to steady and comfort her.

    1. My dogs tend to trip me more than steady me. They always think I might have a treat for them.

  6. Well told, i am glad she has her dogs.

Could she have mal de debarquement syndrome? One of my clients actually has that.

  7. I haven't had many days like that since I retired. I think letting go of that stress was very healthy. It's a good thing; the cats would more likely trip me than steady me.

    1. Yes I would hate to depend on a cat to steady me.
