    1. Supposedly they could mistake it for some kind of distress signal.

  6. This town is so small that they are usually a neighbor or are running for office and want your wave.

  9. No, I do not wave at police officers. I try to be considerate, but I don't attempt to be friendly with them. When I've seen them at work, mostly as security for public events, they seem like a bunch of jerks anyway.

  10. Only if they are directing traffic because the lights are out, then it's mostly just a thank you wave and smile.

  11. Only if I know them...up here on the mountain our local cops are a friendly lot...if you behave yourself, of course!

  12. Sometimes! I try to smile at the traffic details.

Yep I have been off-line all week again until today!

  13. Before we got speed humps on our street, a motorcycle cop would wait on our property for speeders. Our German Shepherd loved him and he loved her. We would often give him water bottles. This was a special case, though, because if I don't know the police officer, I don't pay them any special attention.

One day something had attracted a minor incident down the road. Minutes later, a person in black, on a motorcycle, bristling with black accouterments drove up onto my drive way. Frankly, I was scared, but for no logical reason that I could think of because I hadn't done anything. Turns out it was my ex-brother in law just wanted to say 'hi'. He had just joined the motorcycle unit.
