FRIDAY SING ALONG

Eye, yi-eye-eye-eye
Yi-eye-eye-eye
Ya-ya-ya-ahh
Little darlin', oh, little darlin'
Oh-oh-oh where a-are you?
My love-a, I was wrong-a (la-la-la-la-la-la)
To-oo try to lo-ove two
A-hoopa, a-hoopa, hoopa
Kno-ow well-a that my love-a (la-la-la-la-la-la)
Wa-as just fo-or you, oh only-ee-ee-ee you
My darlin', I NEED you (la-la-la-la-la-la) to call my own and NEVER do wrong. To
Hold in mine your little hand (la-la-la-la-la-la). I'll know too soon that ALL is so grand. Please,
Hold my hand
My dear-a I-I was wrong-a
To-oo try to lo-ove two
A-hoopa, a-hoopa, hoopa
Know well that my love-a (la-la-la-la-la-la)
Wa-as just for you, oh only-ee-ee-ee you

  1. You love your doo wop don't you? Another classic track! I always thought the start of this track was pretty unique.

  2. I thought, reading the lyrics, that it was new to me. It isn't, but is not really to my taste either.
Thank you for proving (yet again) that I am not as musically ignorant as I thought.

  4. The Diamonds performed at my high school's senior class all night party after graduation. They explained that they could understand why so many pop records were hits when the seemed so silly--- so (true story) they recorded this song as a put-on, a joke, never expecting it to be the monster hit it was. Funny! Basically they were more like the Four Lads before doing this tune--and later The stroll.

  5. Oh yes---- I went to see Joan Baez at the Berkeley Community THeater shortly there after and was surprised when SHE did the song, dedicating it to the House Unamerican Activities Committee. Ah, youth!
